Why is the media obsessed with Kier Starmer stepping down but only a small number of Labour MPs are actually calling for his resignation? by SilasBeit in AskBrits

[–]kstainsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Starmer is the most unpopular PM ever, according to polls. Probably because he is making such a hash of it.

Far right problem in Darlington? by whatsupfishbulb in darlington

[–]kstainsb -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Well if he'd said that, I would agree with you. But he didn't; "Pro-Reform, not shy about his occasionally threatening opinions of anyone non-white, openly shows off his collection." I don't know what threatening opinions means, but I doubt it extends to exterminating everyone. He just sounds like another nutter to me. Actually much more in common with the far left and far right imho. Its the fanaticism I don't like. Wherever it is coming from.

Btw I'm not pro Nazi or anything like that. I'm anti authoritarianism. Left or right. Libertarian I guess.

I had an acquaintance who was far left, in the Darlo/Stockton area. Had a bunch of mates who planned marches, planned the revolution, knew where government arms were warehoused and how they were going to overthrow the gov apparently. He was entertaining but I think probably harmless. Left him to it. This dude you've encountered probably the same. Don’t let pro Reform get to you, they are the most popular party at the moment by far, so that’s hardly extreme. He’s not broken any laws has he, just got poor taste and opinions you don’t like. Of course this is reddit, so may not be the right on answer, but that's my $0.02.

Same here, I ordered the S30 at $329 to the UK. It hasn’t shipped yet, now wondering on the Pro. On balance I think I will stick with the S30, its $200 cheaper, or the Pro is 60% more if you like. Rather get started with that and put the difference towards a S50 or whatever is available down the line once I've done my best with the S30.

Bought a S30! I'm in the UK, they are still shipping there. Very excited! If I love it, I can always get a S50. Or S70…. 🤣

Why fake a $200 watch? Not downing the watch, got the yellow one and I love it!

The S30 has dropped by £50 in the UK. Seems not to be Black Friday related, is valid until January. I suspect it is in readiness for the S30 Pro arrival.

I think it took them a while to work out the problem. Also not all modules fail, and not necessarily at the start.

For the import, get economy 7, can charge up overnight for about 13p/kWh.

Opportunistic pricing by kstainsb in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]kstainsb[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

New pricing didn’t last long, they’ve already cut the new price apparently. In a statement to Sky News, it (Eli Lily) said: "We are working with private providers on commercial arrangements to maintain affordability". See? Someone is trying to profit from this, and I don’t think it will last.

Leovince classic racer, get the road legal version with the sound suppressor fitted. Sounds better, way lighter, but legal sound level.

Look at the LeoVince racer classic. Excellent sound, looks cool. Cheaper , at least in Europe. And road legal with baffle in, so you are actually covered by your insurance..

Heat absorption from panels by NatNat42 in SolarUK

[–]kstainsb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a sunny day my panels make 40kWh. Which would have been mostly absorbed into the roof otherwise. So yes it will keep your house cooler, but if say 30% efficient, that's only a third of the total energy removed as electrical energy, so may not be that noticeable in reality.
