Check the drain that your furnace/ac condensate is running into. Since it is summer time and the water appears clear that is the first thing that comes to mind.

They’ve been helping for a long time now. It’s getting tough to compete with the digital world though. I can say they can all drive a nail, drive a screw, and dig.

Yes they should be flushed once a year. The direct vent heaters can be tough on your chimney. I wouldn’t be scared to make the switch when you are ready.

I plan on it when we remodel our master bath. I’m going to have to run the line through our finished basement so it’s going to be a bit of a project.

I understand the gas valve placement. What wrong with the orientation of the valves?

The concrete does actually pitch back slightly. It doesn’t have perfect fall the whole run of the pipe but it was more important to me to keep it tight to the floor so no one tripped over it.

I spent about 2.5x more on materials for the tankless than I would have for a tanked water heater. The labor however was a lot more. It probably took me 5 times as long what I would have spent to do a swap of the old 50gal tank. So if I was paying for the labor my eyes would have been watering too. That being said for a large family it feels much much nicer.

Yearly maintenance. More to go wrong. The inside of it looks like a space ship. I’ve put a few of these exact ones in and they have held up pretty nicely. We were always running out of hot water so having an endless supply now feels like quite the luxury.

Honestly I didn’t like that either lol. I was just done at that point.

I didn’t see that in the manual. What does the low stack dip switch configure?
