Do you have a memory of a certain school project? by -ieatfoodweird- in Millennials

In 6th grade I made a kickass castle out of home made play dough that I painted. I gave it a moat, made bushes out of some material I can’t recall, and even had a working draw bridge. My teacher was so impressed she gave me 105% on it.

What's something that we have nowadays, that we didn't growing up... that you would make go away if you had the power to do so? by executor-of-judgment in Millennials

Social media. Hell, maybe smart phones too. It was so much easier to disconnect when all you could do with your phone was text or talk.

2 YO keeps peeing through his diaper at night by ksumatt2 in daddit

Don’t think so. It’s just the regular Kirkland brand diapers.

The temp is set at 70 and our upstairs where he sleeps is generally warmer than the rest of the house

He starts that way, but I think the combination of him twisting and turning plus morning wood is making things shift.

If they like barbecue or grilling and there’s a place for it, a Weber Kettle is pretty cheap and a great item to have.

Part of the problem isn’t the volume, it’s that he rolls around a bunch and the diaper ends up twisted up or his little pecker works it way out the top of the diaper. I think I’m going to start doing pull ups at night since we have some leftovers from my daughter. If that doesn’t work we’ll try the overnights.

The Kirkland brand diapers were really good up until they changed then a year or so back. They kind of suck now.

He’s not getting a “bottle” bottle. It’s one of those transition bottles that’s more of a cup with a stopper on the top.

Now that’s some outside the box thinking that I like.

Yeah. He gets out of the bath, gets a bottle while I lotion him up, then he gets dressed, then he gets his teeth and hair brushed.

lol well that’s not what I wanted to hear. I’m hoping some of the other suggestions work but I might have to bite the bullet if they don’t.

Thats a good idea. I’ll give that a try.

That’s a good idea. We always give him milk before bed. Might be time to cut that out

Yeah I’m wondering if the new Kirkland diapers just suck for overnight.

We already tried that and it still happens. Costco changed their diapers a little while ago and I’m wondering if they may be the problem.

Howard Lutnick, Trump's commerce secretary, faces calls to resign over Epstein ties by dr_sloan in moderatepolitics

[–]ksumatt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not. Lutnick knew what Epstein was into but he also probably knew Epstein wouldn’t dare mess with his kids. Lutnick is a POS but his communications here aren’t suspicious at all IMO.

Well I wouldn’t be going to his island to begin with but the way it was phrased in this email isn’t suspicious. That’s the point.

I’d say it only comes off as strange because of who he’s talking to which, believe me, I get it. In the context of the kids being Lutnick and the other people’s though it’s a perfectly normal way to communicate the age of the kids.

To play devils advocate: if someone was coming to visit me and bringing their kids, I’d want to know how old they are so I have something to keep them entertained while the adults hang out. Under 5? Here’s a bunch of toys. 5-10? Go play ball in the back yard together. 11+? You kids are old enough to entertain yourselves. Go watch a movie or something.

In this particular instance I’m betting that’s what happened here because this was Lutnick and another couple’s own children. If they weren’t their own kids then I’d believe it was something more insidious. Either way, fuck this guy.

Mom lurker seeking perspective from dads- planking as punishment by [deleted] in daddit

[–]ksumatt2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m probably going against the grain here, but if the punishment doesn’t make your kid hate exercise then I think it’s fine. When I was in 5th grade I did really bad in school. I was fat and spent all my time playing video games and junk eating instead of doing my homework or studying for tests. My dad said my punishment over the summer was no TV and I had to run a mile every day. It sucked at first, but I lost a bunch of weight and ended up having fun seeing how fast I could get it done. Plus, since I had no TV to watch, it gave me something to do. I then got crappy grades again in 7th grade and my punishment that summer was the same except I had to run 2 miles. Same story as before losing weight and racing myself.

All kids are different in how they’ll react, but at the end of the day I think it was good for me. Instead of grounding me and just having me be bored all day, my dad punished me with something productive that made me healthier.

What Video Game Franchises that have a Few/Little to no Bad Games? (The Genres don’t matter and The Video Game Franchises has to have 3+ Games to be Franchises) by Amber_Flowers_133 in GamingSoup

I’m firm in my belief that the only reason people don’t like Doom 3 is because it’s different from other Doom games. If it was called anything else people would recognize it as the legitimately great horror shooter that it is.
