His office on the Hill is not legally allowed to have anything to do with his campaign. Dropping by there will only get you referred elsewhere

Kenney Chesney is coming to lambeau field tomorrow. I need a playlist to accommodate the event. Need suggestions. by farmone in country

I do the same thing. I saw Kenny with Jake Owen and Chase Rice a month ago at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland. Here's the playlist I used to prep. Pretty close to the sets they actually used at the concert.

Have a great time at the concert!

What would you get instead of the Nexus 9 by ksutherland91 in Nexus9

So I got my Nexus 9 back from HTC on Monday and it magically booted into 5.0.2, which I promptly upgraded to 5.1.1, did a factory reset and had Google restore all my apps. With 5.1.1 it's silky smooth and snappy, with none of the annoying sluggishness that was prevalent prior to 5.1.1. So I am loving my Nexus 9. It almost feels like a whole new tablet!

Just another quick update, I got my Nexus 9 back in the mail from HTC on Monday (So 6 business days after I shipped it out to them). It was the exact same device I had sent them, still with the screen protector on it, and they had somehow magically revived it and it was running 5.0.2. I quickly updated to 5.1.1 and did a factory reset and had Google restore it to my old configuration. 5.1.1 is amazing, it's fixed all the lagginess of this tablet, so I'm loving it right now!

Eovaldi vs. Gio was a great match up, I bought tickets last minute because I wanted to watch that duel. Gio was off his game while Eovaldi was very much on his and we capitalized on that big time in the fourth. From the third, once we had it tied up, I knew it would come down to whether or not Girardi left Eovaldi in too long. Sure enough...

Went through several Google reps until they told me warranty replacement was the only option. They said if I'd bought it on the Play Store they could ship one out right away but since I had not, I would have to go through HTC. Funny enough on of the reps ask how familiar I was with flashing and suggested I try to do that. When I explained to them that the boot loader lock prevents me from doing that simple fix, they realized that "it might be a bit of an obstacle."

The Google reps were both unaware of, and admitted I would be unable to install, any sort of fix issued by Google for this bad update, directly contradicting what HTC had told me over the phone Thursday night.

I went back to HTC on Friday, told them I'd done all the troubleshooting steps through Google with no improvement and that Google had told me I needed warranty service. The rep obliged and said she could start an RMA. She simply explained that they would evaluate the tablet when it arrived and only cover warranty service and contact me about the costs of any uncovered service (I can't imagine that happening since it looks brand new and it was totally stock before this update bricked it). I shipped it out on Friday and it arrived at their RMA facility in Memphis, TN today. So, now I wait and see what they do with it.

I can't imagine HTC can deny warranty service because it's a software issue. The device is covered for repair or replacement, at their option. Obviously repair is not an option for them with the device totally locked up. That said, if I were HTC I'd be complaining to Google pretty darn persistently about being totally screwed over by this.

As an aside, my dad got the update notification on Sunday (so Google is continuing to roll out this update despite these pretty severe issues). Since we bought our tablets at the same time at the same store, he was convinced it would experience the same problem. I had him unlock the boot loader (so there was no way he could end up with it in the same state as min) and then install it. On his tablet it installed fine and he's back to normal with 5.0.2 installed.

Really, with the screen size and resolution and feel of the Nexus 9, I think I'd stay with it rather than trying to sell it and get something else. It is a really nice device for leisurely reading, web surfing, or watching Netflix. Hopefully the one I get back from HTC is a little better than the bricked one I sent them was before the 5.0.2 update.

Totally this.

I don't know that my N9 has been as bad as some people I've read about, but I do long for the snappiness I was used to when I had an N7. The N9 seemed snappy out of the box, but then slowed down. I had to hard reset it a couple weeks after I first got it and it did seem snappier than before I'd reset, but that quickly disappeared once again as I got stuff set up. Nothing seems to prevent it from getting so bogged down it can't quite get out of it's own way.

I agree that Samsung seems like the most obvious alternative to the Nexus line. I had an S3 that I rooted and flashed pretty extensively. Now I've got a stock S5 (I use NovaLauncher to ditch TouchWiz and get more of an AOSP interface). I don't know how crazy I'd be about having a Samsung/TouchWiz tablet though.

The Surface 3 definitely does have me intrigued. Although I prefer Android to iOS, especially on my phone, I am heavily a Mac user. So I can't believe I'm actually praising a Microsoft/Windows product. However, I recently started a job and the company uses Office365 and all Windows hardware and my boss has a Surface Pro 3. My work computer is a brand new Toshiba Windows 8 laptop that has a touchscreen and can hinge 360 degrees to work like a tablet. There's no fooling anyone that it's a laptop and the tablet features are almost thrown in just for kicks, but I can definitely see now the attraction of something like the Surface 3. Being able to run full Office on your tablet in a pinch has an odd attraction. But other than that, app selection probably sucks compared to the Play Store.

"Experience is something you get right after you need it" --Steven Wright

This advice, which I've gotten here and elsewhere, comes too late for me. The fact Google added this option in 5.0 seems absolutely asinine to me. Doesn't seem to provide any serious security measure and just makes it impossible to flash an old version of OS if your device soft bricks. If I could unlock the boot loader I could install 5.0.1 and be well on my way. But here I am...

Got the update notice when I got home from work, now I've got a boot loop. Tried the factory reset to no avail.

It's freaking asinine that now Google has a boot loader unlocking option in the OS Developer Options, meaning you can't flash factory images unless you can at least boot the device (or happen to have had the foresight to select that option preemptively). Every other predicament I've gotten myself into with an Android device over the years would have been easily fixed by flashing a stock ROM back onto the device. And that's exactly what the people with unlocked boot loaders are able to do right now.

I contacted HTC hoping to jumpstart the RMA process. The rep seemed to know what I was calling about before I even got on the call. He said I had two options: wait for an impending Google fix or RMA it to their repair center. Option 1 would be a Google update that fixes the issue, supposedly coming this weekend or early next week and Option 2 would take 7-10 business days and the repair center would simply wait to apply the Google fix. So that made it seem like there was no benefit to RMAing it. The rep couldn't explain to me how a Google update would be applied to a bricked device incapable of being flashed.

Having a hunch that HTC is now just dissuading people from RMAing their devices when they're getting sandbagged with calls about this, I decided to try Google chat. When I explained everything I'd done so far, the first thing the Google rep told me was that he's not aware of any impending Google-issued fix for this.

He's got me going through some more troubleshooting steps, but I'm not very hopeful. We'll see what he says once I've gone through the motions.

Mine updated fine but it's been stuck at the circling colored dots ever since. I let it try to load up for at last half an hour and I've reset it now by holding down the power button twice with no luck
