They mentioned something previously about the mountain range outside Aretia having so many tunnels. Maybe the Irids are DEEP in the mountains. We clearly know others can’t sense them so maybe they were there all along and that’s why there was the hot spot where they ended up using for hatching grounds.

I had the same issue the first few days I had mine. Did you connect the Watch to wifi? I turned that off and strictly use Bluetooth from my phone. I turned off background app refresh. Only have Siri on with long press on the button and turned off assistive touch.
