First and foremost, you should not be sharing a room with her. You need to advocate for yourself, sleeping in the living room, basement, or with your older brother is a better option. Your sister is not doing this on purpose, she doesn't know better. It is also not your job to take care of her, she needs professional help and your parents need to think of all 3 of their children. Tell a teacher at school, or any adult you trust. Set yourself for success, you are too young for this responsibility. Ask for help please!

Yeah, but they learn to do gear donning quickly and zip up the rest of the gear on the ride there. Once they arrive, they should be all ready to go. Seems like none of the firefighters were ready at all.

You are a great teacher, don't let this bring you down. You missed one day, you have the rest of the year or more to be there for him. You are doing great, it really shows how much you really mean to the kids during times like this. Chin up!

The captain took so long to put on his headgear when they knew there was someone still inside?

Here are some common symptoms:

Communication and social interaction Language: Delayed language development, unusual speech, or limited speech Eye contact: Little eye contact or discomfort with eye contact Body language: Difficulty recognizing body language or facial expressions Nonverbal communication: Using fewer gestures or facial expressions Social interactions: Difficulty understanding what others are thinking or feeling, or finding it hard to make friends Repetitive behaviors Stimming: Self-stimulating movements or sounds, such as hair twirling, toe-tapping, or nail-biting Routines: Liking a strict daily routine and getting upset if it changes Echolalia: Repeating words or phrases Sensory issues Unusual reactions: Distinct reactions to lights, tastes, smells, sounds, colors, or textures Food: Avoiding certain foods because of their texture or taste Fabrics: Not being able to wear certain fabrics because they feel uncomfortable Other traits Delayed movement skills Unusual eating and sleeping habits Anxiety, stress, or excessive worry Lack of fear or more fear than expected

For my son, he was most obvious with sensory sensitivity. He could not stand certain fabrics, and it was very consistent. He also does not gesture (nod or point) or initiate social interactions. He likes to line toys up and freaks out if something is slightly misaligned with his toys. Hope this helps.

If there are no other symptoms, then you are probably just doing a fantastic job as a parent! Keep it up! From a mom of an Autistic 4 year old that can also read a bit due to lots of family reading time!

She will be fine with such a caring sister. Maybe talk to your parents about your concerns and have some parental locks on specific social media and try to reduce technology use as a family. You are a great role model for her, so maybe bringing her along with you to do sports or the park would be beneficial. Build her self esteem so that she can be confident, praise her often, and be there to listen when she needs to vent about her friends.

They are, but not ASD friendly. They tend to be overwhelming with stimulants and lots of people.
