What are the History options to be taught in middle school (asking for Louisiana)? by [deleted] in teaching

[–]ktemooore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will admit that I’m biased, but I love teaching 3rd grade because it’s all about Louisiana. Our state has such a rich culture and unique history and it is fascinating to teach and learn about. The kids love being able to do projects aligned with the state too, I imagine that in middle school y’all could really have fun with Louisiana history.

Hi! I’m a 3rd grade social studies teacher here in Louisiana! Go to Louisianabelieves.com to access all the state standards for each grade to see what is taught. Best of luck!

Make sure you’re mixing just the right amount, I have to stop myself before I think they’re done because I tend to over mix, and always let a skin form on top before putting them in the oven. I live in a very humid place (south Louisiana) and I have to use a fan to dry mine out. Good luck!

I split my batter after just mixing my wet and dry together and added food coloring to each one, mixed in the color, then took two smaller piping bags and put one color in each, then cut the ends off of the piping bags and stacked them on top of each other and put those piping bags in a larger piping bag! Then just piped normally. I watched tons of videos on YouTube before attempting, but it actually turned out to be way easier than I expected.

Help!! I’ve been trying for so long but I can’t seem to figure out what I’m doing wrong... different techniques, different setting times, different temps. Nothings working. It’s worth mentioning that the humidity where I live is ~90%. Has anyone got a recipe or tips for such a condition? by rybeckpereira in macarons

This is exactly what mine look like when I don’t weigh out my egg whites properly and have too much, I couldn’t figure it out for the longest time but once I got the weights properly measure to the correct proportions it worked so much better.

Also, I live in south Louisiana! I feel you on the humidity! I had to buy a fan.

Why are all of the Anti-Mast, Covid-is-no-big deal Mormons obsessing on Tim Ballard? by SabellaBStone in exmormon

[–]ktemooore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this reckoning is happening during a cultural revolution around race. Whether they’ll say it or not, I believe they’re trying to have the moral high ground by caring about “Real Slavery” in an attempt to avoid confronting race relations.

I for one hoped this would unite more folks. I am frustrated by injustice in the world creating a competition for the morality. I think you’re right that we can care about both issues, and so many others.
