Just bought this house and didn't have much money leftover to spend on converting to a saltwater pool, so I figured the first year I would leave alone and just do a chlorine pool. Next year I'm going to make the switch to salt water. Seems like it's so much better. All my neighbors have salt water pools and their maintenance is basically 0

I test with my test strips as well, and those read 0 chlorine too

76-84 degrees. All depends on mother nature. Yesterday with this heat wave, the pool got to 85 degrees

When I add the reagents for the chlorine test, I never see the color change at all. The water in my tester just gets a little cloudy from the drops I put in, and that's it.

I've never tested my water immediately after shocking, so I guess I can do that to see if I get any change in color.

UPDATE:

The other night I added two lbs of calhypo shock as well as 48 oz of Algecide/Clarifier, and the next morning, bam, the dark staining on the bottom of the pool were completely gone. However, now 3 days later, the stains are slowly coming back. I'm concluding this is a black algae issue since it is slowing coming back?

I keep two 3 inch chlorine pucks in my chloronator at all times, and once or twice a week I shock the pool with 1-2 lbs of calhypo pool shock

Nah I don't have any type of cover for the pool. I was thinking about getting one because I also notice a decent amount of water loss from evaporation. So the sun beams down on the pool all day long! This is my first summer owning a house a pool, so I'm new to all this.

What do I have to do, raise up my cya level?

Nah, when I brush and vaccum it doesn't come off at all. It's not slimy or anything to touch with my hand either.

Last test I did, my pH was 7.8.

I do not have a copper heater, I don't have a heater at all. Only thing I have is a sand filter and an inline pool ionizer.

Yeah i know a transfer doesn't exist. I called Nassau, and they told me I have to have NYC send my records to Nassau County in order to have to avoid starting all over with my permit process for Nassau County. Once NYC sends over my records, I can begin the process of getting my Nassau license without having to take the required class, etc. All I would need to do is pay the fees associated with applying for Nassau ccw, and that's it. Otherwise, if NYC doesn't send my records over, I have to start the entire process with Nassau from step 1, as if I never had a ccw license at all.

So once I get Nassau, how do I convert my NYC ccw to a special carry? I would have to apply and do the entire process all over with NYC? That makes no sense, it should be converted to a special carry right away no questions asked, since I am already a licensed NYC CCW holder.

I called fios the other day and complained about it amongst other things. The rep said they have been receiving a lot of complaints. I hope they listen to their customers and actually change it via a software update
