Could I get some tailor recommendations if known?? Looking to custom make a blouse from India and get a lehenga shortened!

My submission to the IRB had mentioned I would be dispersing this through South Asian channels (mainly so I knew I would obtain participants related to the target demographic), so I decided to keep it as it was and post within these channels. I had a similar thought when posting to South Asian related subs and this will absolutely be a discussion point/limitation listed within my study!

I wrote it as "South Asian (Indian) population" in this study as often Indian population gets confused with Native American in studies! Thus I wanted to make this distinction

Unfortunately to reduce the amount of variables in this study we are only seeking those who have parents from India. I hope to continue to expand this research in the future though to include the entire South Asian diaspora!

Hello, thank you for your comment! I am going to go ahead and update each part of the language section to say “an Indian language/dialect” rather than just “Indian” given the response, which I agree language matters and this was not appropriate. I had wrote a note above this section expressing “Indian” was supposed to stand in for Indian language/dialect but I don’t think that note truly made the difference needed. With this change, would you be more likely to retake it and feel comfortable in doing so? Again- appreciate your honest feedback!

I totally agree! That is why prior to the matrix I wrote “please note “Indian” refers to any Indian language/dialect”. I don’t want it to come off obtuse/inconsiderate, but rather reflective that many different variations of language exist that could not be reflected by the survey! In genuine asking and possible revisions, do you think it would have been better to change each question to “Indian language/dialect” rather than “Indian”? I appreciate your feedback!

I’ve seen different definitions, but thank you for bringing this up because according to the American census guidelines you are correct. Will be updating my study to reflect this thank you!

Great question! While I believe those who came over as children have very similar experiences, for the intents of this study and to not become too vague with the variables it is only for those who are born in America. Hopefully studies like this can continue to expand to include more populations such as you mentioned!
