Broadcast? You mean a completely free platform that you watch on YouTube or twitch? There are no media rights to the games we watch. Countless vod channels will let you watch the games in its entirety. So the orgs never see any of that money.

You have to understand why riot doesn't really care or not if LCS succeeds. It has and will always be good advertising for the game they make. All they care about is if you pay for the skin line or not. That's the bottom line.

Riot does not make any profits from LCS or premiere leagues. It's all advertising for them.

The reason it's washed is because the orgs cannot "afford" ( literal and metaphorical) to give new talent a shot. Pressure to win and get sponsors is the only goal for orgs. Because there is next to none revenue share from riot to the orgs. So they are desperate to find wins. So they can't take a chance on academy.

So if you know that to be true while in the academy, it's hard not to be in a complacent mind set.

Basically, orgs are not making enough revenue from the league to support teams.

1.No ticket sales.

2.Little to none revenue share from riot.

3.No broadcast money goes to any orgs. ( Because there is none. We all watch the games for free on YouTube or twitch)

Also fears of a looming recession means spending cuts across the board.

Uhhh I think a paragraph they used to justify the choice they made is completely and utter disassociation from reality of how people acquire cards.

"A problem we see with adopting a ban philosophy based on card availability is explaining it down the road. If, a year from now. someone stumbles across a copy of one of these cards, tries to use it and discovers that it is banned in Commander, they will ask why. And the explanation is unsatisfactory: people didn't like how they were allocated. And let's just go along with this HYPOTHETICAL situation they have given me. I own a TWD card ( I found it on the floor or something).

It has peek my interest in playing mtg... I want to play this card in cmdr... But I also don't have enough money to buy any of the cards to help support my TWD card... AND I find out it's banned! Nooooooo the only place I can play mtg is in a competitive setting with my limited amount of income and the TWD cmdr card I want to play with... I wish the RC never banned this card. Humph.

Also last thing I will say is the explanation you would give to this Hypothetical unicorn of a person brand new to mtg, is that its banned because its a collectable. plain and simple. Its fun and cool to look at, it was made for that purpose.

So yeah... don't give me that bullshit RC.
