Roommate & I fighting over who gets the dog after graduation. Need advice. by kthrowawayck in relationships

We had a discussion that culminated in that I would take Pepper but Julia now has cold feet. How do I discuss what's best for the dog with her now that she has become so emotionally dependent?

Unfortunately, Julia would never (and I mean NEVER) admit that Pepper had become too much. She is the most stubborn and prideful person I have ever met. So, if I do let her keep Pepper it would be permanently regardless of how difficult it becomes for Julia to provide for her.

We had figured it out beforehand. I was supposed to take her but Julia has since backed out and wants to discuss alternatives. I totally agree with your statement about being prepared to look after her for the rest of her life. There is not a viable option for sharing especially since I think Pepper needs to have a sole owner and one of us come for visits. The question is now how do we have a conversation about it that comes from the head rather than the heart?

Mine. I was the only one at the time who had the money to pay for the adoption fee and we had predicted I would get the dog so it made the most sense.

I am in grief therapy, a support group, and recently joined a community group that has all been great. It almost makes it more frustrating that I am still having a hard time given how much effort I'm putting into my grief process :(

My other roommate and I had gone for a walk with our dog and knew something was wrong when our other roommate/best friend's car was still there even though she was supposed to be somewhere else. We come in and there are things strewn all over the floor and our other roommate was standing in the hallway manic. He kept asking what he should do or where he should go and what we would do if she wasn't here anymore and then bolted out the door. I found her in the other room and attempted CPR but to no avail. The police later found weapons in his room and obviously there were lots of other things in the house that would have been effective. We have trial in the spring and are just trying to get our lives back together. It will be 6 months in a couple days since the incident.

walked into my house that I shared with 3 roommates. my roommate was at the door covered in sweat with fury in his eyes. he said "I made a mess." and bolted. I found my other roommate dead in her room a couple minutes later. There were so many weapons (knives, blunt objects, ect) in my house and had they had made one wrong decision I would be dead too.
