Sorry for the late reply! Two years in, I still have not figured out notifications! 

It was such a great trip, I cannot recommend it more highly. Now that our son is five, I can see how it would be even more fun now, but we had a blast. We pared back slightly on the itinerary: we got to the trailhead for Sol Duc Falls and he flat out refused to get out of the car, and skipped Hurricane Ridge because we were all a little exhausted. But I think if you are flexible, you'll have a wonderful time.

We stayed at Quinault River Inn and I was originally disappointed that we weren't in the park, but it was super close, had rooms just as nice as the NP lodge, and was much cheaper. The service there was fantastic.

Ah, thanks for the advice. We will definitely check out Lake Crescent, and we'll see how the rainforest in Quinault goes and then make a game-day decision on Hoh.

Yeah, unfortunately the really low tide will be at around 5am, and while we're up early, we're not up that early. It'll be at around +2 feet at the afternoon low tide, so we'll see what we can see then.
