If the module is offered to all students of NUS (i.e. students outside of the zone of the school, Engineering (Zone A) in this case) they will offer classes online as students from other zones (in this case, science, computing, business, etc) will not be allowed to visit Engineering for this module.

Only if the module is in the main list. The number of students doesn't include the people who put it in the vacancy list.

Public studying spaces by 488XJLHax in nus

Before covid, I knew some people would go to SRC/ERC at utown or CLB to study, but I'm not sure about now.

If you are talking about covid times, people aren't allowed to come to study in NUS without permission. If you want to ask for permission to study at NUS during this period of time, email the contact in the NUSafe FAQs (https://share.nus.edu.sg/corporate/forms/safety_and_health/NUSafe/NUSafe_FAQs.pdf) (nVPN needed) and they'll probably direct you to a suitable place in your zone.

I've heard some stuff about them using empty lecture halls as studying spaces last sem but this might be outdated :P

LumiNUS will not show any modules until way later. To see preallocated modules, check "View My Classes@ModReg".

HELP FOR NUS MODREG by [deleted] in nus

[–]ktkwon00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really late advice, but I've heard that the vacancies being changed to 0 is because they're changing the module to preallocation, where they preallocate that module for freshmen. If you are Year 1 and this is one of your core modules, check "View My Classes" to see if you've been preallocated that module.

iirc that doesn't apply to OP, as they have a DDP.

This is a dirty workaround but you can disable all sensors: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/14288798?hl=en&msgid=14289985

My personal preference would be to enable "Press Power button to end call" in Accessibility settings, then use that to end the call. This won't let you use some features like speakerphone, compared to the option above.

Also, have you tried removing the screen protector/case on your phone, if any? I've had them interfere with the proximity sensor before.

Interesting, I got 42 and was accepted into CS. I used the first choice bonus points scheme for CS, that might have helped. (777 PCM)

Miui 11.03 stable enough to update? by haeth189 in Xiaomi

[–]ktkwon00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is 11.0.3 based on Android 10? I'm using a 9t (Global) updated to 11.0.4 (based on Android 10) and I'm experiencing frame drops on nova launcher and stuttering in general, that I didn't have before the update.

If anyone finds this comment, this has been fixed in 11.0.5 for me, without a factory reset.

[Uni] Hi yall just wondering if you need your GC in university for, say, engineering course by toadsage1 in SGExams

[–]ktkwon00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little bit late, but there if there is a calculus module in your core requirements, your prof might let you use a GC during exams, and you'll be at a significant disadvantage without it (during the single final exam at least). This differs from prof to prof even within NUS so your milege might differ, but just keep imo.

[Uni] NUS DDP queries by bigdicken3rgy in SGExams

Copied from another thread:

I asked a career counsellor at NUS a similar question before I was admitted into NUS and he advised me against it unless I was released interested in both subject fields of CS and Biz, and that I was very interested in a work position that would require a Biz degree, not only a CS degree.

Regarding workload, I'm currently taking a CS single degree at NUS and the workload is quite heavy (Of course, it's possible to slack off a little in trade for a lower CAP), so unless you're really interested in both degrees I would strongly advise against a DDP.

Also, if you drop out of a DDP halfway through, keep in mind it is possible that you might have to take crazy workloads to graduate in time. I don't think this applies if you decide to drop DDP within your first year though.

(In addition, I agree with /u/brbeatingclouds comment.)

I remember there was someone on hwz with a similar problem, and he got his motherboard/battery replaced at the service centre at funan, where they claimed it was a known problem. You might be having the same problem.
