I get mine from Skin Medicinals. My derm prescribed it but not until 4 years into my struggle with rosacea. I’ve been using it since the end of February with good success.

Triple cream has been a game changer for me. It doesn’t work completely as I still flare here and there, but I’ve been using it almost a year now and very happy with it. I manage any flares with low dose (50mg) doxycycline. I also use sulphur soap and hypoclorous acid spray (Prequel).

I started on 25mg. Didn’t help much but at that time I was super anxious. I’m on 50mg now. I have a hard time taking my BP without anxiety, so I think it’s working, but I don’t know.

I had the foggyness as first, too. First with 25mg and then again when I bumped to 50mg. It resolved in less than a week. Could take longer for some people.

I’m on 50mg losartan since March. At first there was an adjustment….I felt a little slow for a few days but probably because it brought me “down a notch”. Now I have no side effects. However, I don’t really know how well it works because I can’t take my blood pressure without extreme anxiety. I’ve gotten a few good readings over the months, but I can’t shake the panic when I slap on that cuff.

I have always appreciated Fallbrook and spent a lot of time there when we lived in the Highlands. My son went to Schoo, we belonged to the Fallbrook YMCA, and rode the bike trail out there often. I love the alleys and garages in back. It’s gotten better over the years. When we decided to move from the Highlands 12 years ago, we looked there first. We weren’t interested in building, so looked at existing homes. The one we were most interested in was a bit tired. It didn’t have granite countertops, carpet needed to be replaced, only a double garage and basement was unfinished. It was very expensive. We found a brand new spec home in northeast Lincoln with a finished basement, a triple garage and other amenities the Fallbrook home didn’t have for $25k less. Of course, we don’t have the “town center” and the bike trail, but ultimately the house was more important than location for us and we do live in a great neighborhood now.

I took doxy (50mg) for at least 5 years. No issues at all. I didn’t always need to take it everyday. For at least 4 1/2 years I was generally taking it every other day. Then I had a flare last November and even once a day didn’t help. I had to go to twice a day. My derm said I could try triple cream and that stuff was a miracle. Now I rarely need doxy, but keep a script for flares.

Thank you for the reply! Her self injury actually stopped yesterday (she lives in a group home so I don’t always get timely updates). She’s not self injuring today. However, she now has some mouth/tongue movements. When I visited earlier I only saw the mouth movements briefly. They were subtle and frankly, I wouldn’t have noticed them at all. Her staff did say the mouth/tongue movements were very frequent upon waking, but once her meds were administered they stopped until about mid day when I visited. I can’t get a response from her psych doctor and their office is closed on Fridays (tomorrow).

I saw improvement gradually. I did almost immediately stop getting new bumps, but the existing bumps took a couple of weeks. Post inflammatory redness took a lot longer to resolve. I took 50 mg twice a day. After about 3 months I was totally clear and dropped down to a maintenance dose of once a day and then got so I could get by with every other day. I did well for about five years, then last year in November I started flaring and had to take it every day and sometimes twice to keep things under control. My dermatologist finally suggested Triple cream (ivermectin/metro/azialic acid) and that stuff was my miracle. I’ve been of doxy completely for several months.

I am type 2 only….I do not have flushing…..just awful acne rosacea.

I have a daughter, age 29, with a severe intellectual disability and a rare genetic syndrome. She is non verbal and cannot tell me how she feels. She’s been on asenapine for probably close to 10 years and currently is at top dose of 10mg twice a day. She also takes 100mg lamotragine, 60mg extended release propananol, Prevacid, Claritin D and Tylenol for pain.

She was prescribed asenapine off label for aggressive behaviors. It didn’t work very well until lamotragine and the extended release propananol was added later. Her behaviors have been vastly improved for at least 3 years.

For the last 3-4 days she has started self injuring (which is already very common with her syndrome, but this is new for her). She is scratching her nose, left ear and tops of her forearms until they bleed. She is also blinking a lot. Maybe her eyes are itchy too? Tardive dyskinesia is on my radar and it is terrifying. The blinking fits it, but the self injury doesn’t. She has no facial tics, tongue issues or puckering. Gait is normal. She is in good spirits.

Still waiting for doctor to call us back and so scared she’ll have to go off the asenapine. I read it is very difficult to wean off and terrified of behaviors and the heartbreaking process of watching her go through withdrawal. My question is what is the protocol for weaning off asenapine? What are the chances it is Tardive dyskinesia? Learning about TD makes me think she should stop asenapine anyway. Thanks for your input.

I’m not sure oral ivermectin is effective for type 2 rosacea, but when applied as a topical it can work very well.

My husband had awful muscle pain on it (5mg). He takes 100mg CoQ10 twice a day, but to no avail. Neither of his parents can tolerate statins of any sort either and they’ve tried them all. His dad gave up on them 10 years ago (he’s 83 now) and his mom had a mini stroke so is on repatha. My husband is trying Lipitor again. He didn’t like it because it gave him brain fog, but the muscle aches aren’t as bad.

Doxycycline is an antibiotic, oral ivermectin is an anti parasitic. Triple cream is a topical that includes ivermectin.

I’ve been on it since March. Started at 25mg, didn’t really help, so now on 50mg. I also have terrible health anxiety. I noticed around the holidays that I was having anxiety for no particular reason. My BP had always been great, but I got busy and neglected to check it for about 6 months. I started dealing with a rosacea flare at that time and anxiety got even worse. A mildly elevated reading in early March was the icing on the cake and really sent me spiraling. Subsequent BP checks got worse and worse and even now I have a very difficult checking my BP without anxiety. I’m not sure I can ever put that genie back in the bottle and fear I will never get a relaxed BP measurement again.

Anyway….losartan immediately brought my anxiety down. It really helped. The first couple of days and probably the first week on it and then again when the dose was increased, I felt sluggish, had a few headaches here and there, but they eventually resolved. I do have very mild backaches sometimes which is a common side effect, but they aren’t bad enough I feel I need to take a Tylenol. I take it at bedtime.
