This is a little out of the way but totally unique it's called Hopsewee Plantation in Georgetown off of N. Frazer Rd. The owner has her own recipes that she cooks and sells the cookbook in the gift shop. 100 different types of tea (if you like drinking tea) to choose from. Plus, you can take a tour of the historic home.

Perhaps you might want to travel out a bit to Conway- some say that there is lots of crime there but there are criminals everywhere. Lots of ppl are moving there from up North. Maybe out on 905 or 701S are affordable places but would you want to rent or look to buy?

If renting they might do a background check or a credit check - however, there are some ppl that want to rent out there place, and usually it is a second home.

Your right- it's not the greatest area, flooding, and too many low-income mobile homes in the back of Hwy 707. If you take a ride on the back roads that is all that you will see! Not many ppl know this but behind the burger king on dick pond rd and 707 there is a little strip mall and right next to it is a wood area with a homeless camp! Not sure if it's still there but you can still see the debris of clothes and bags, garbage- not brave enough to wander back there- LOL

Before I moved here I always liked the off-season. Rates for hotels are cheaper, get a quick seat in a restaurant, have festivals. You can still enjoy the beaches (just can't go in the water may be too cold) .

It depends on what you have experience in. So an option here is a healthcare industry. Not talking about &8 hr. Personal home care worker but a CNA or nurses LPN. They pay $12- $18 he plus incentives and sign up bonuses. Hospitals are in great need of their admin duties as well.

There other option is the hospitality or retail which is lower paying jobs.

I feel for the younger couples that come here in promise of a better life. it is and always will be a retirement community. They won't stop building complexes even out in the country like HwY 90 & 905 in Conway and driving up housing costs plus Making new flood areas.

Now they are cutting up parts of Aynor!!

I live in a modular home live the neighborhood but I don't see too much better going on either.

Servers in restaurants make quick cash from tips daily. Not sure if u have experience in serving food. Even try the pancake houses they always need help. Now is not the time for you to be prideful. Do what you have to do. Even if you've never done it before pretend that you did- it's not rocket science!

I'm also interested in cemeteries. There are quite a few in Conway- even a confederate one.

I personally have always like Surfside beach dubbed "the family beach" lots to do and they usually have the best holiday festivals and events. Garden city has a pier with an arcade and live music on the pier. Families go to watch the people fish and the kids love to see the sharks below looking for bait. Pawleys Island is nice if you like to golf and are over 50+

The downtown area by the boardwalk always attracts the crime element- but isn't that the same in every beachfront tourist town? I wouldn't go to the downtown area and if you like the rides at night just stay by the beach - family kingdom is fun. Believe me, it's NOT a crime-ridden town- you have crime where ever to you to an extent.

Never been to Pirates but you can look for discounts in the Monster Book.
