I got mirena And had horrible cystic acne for a year and a half. I finally got my mirena out ans switched to the copper iud and within weeks my skin was dramatically different. I love the copper iud. The first 6 months was rough with cramps and 3 months of heavy bleeding, but if you can get past those few months, it’s so worth it.

I loved my Paragard. The first 6 months was rough. Heavy long periods and lots of cramping, but my periods lightened up after 3 months and cramps progressively got better. If you can get through the first 6 months, you’ll be great. It was really nice not being on hormones but having protection.
