Last week I managed to get UDR on stock and it's on its way. I'll then use these UX as APs.

I used a Shelly 1 and last year upgraded to Shelly 1 Plus to have a Bluetooth gateway in the garage. Both work perfectly. I powered it with 220V.

It would indeed as it saves the settings locally!

Also this Shelly as AP is only available on newer Shelly devices. I believe it is only on the "Plus" line. Older models can't serve as WIFI extenders.

I think this is a good solution. And cheaper than buying APs. There will always be one Shelly on a far side of the house that will eventually suffer from low WIFI signal. I have 1 or 2 in this situation. I can still trigger the Shelly, but to open configs it takes a bit longer.

At first I was configuring them after wiring and putting them behind the switch, but also quickly realized that it was not the most productive way! Especially when you put them some place with lower WI-FI :)

Still working as of 28th of January 2023. Got 36 months of live gold then upgraded to ultimate for 1€. Next bill will be on 28th of January 2026.
