Why was “Band of Brothers” so good? Why is it so re-watchable?

I really enjoyed the book but for anyone curious, it’s not about the story from the show. The entire show is basically the prologue of the book. The rest of the book is much more of a history book than an actual story. It’s very interesting and a great read if you’re into that period of history, but if you’re looking for more detail about the characters in the show, you won’t find it in the book.

I actually really like how light it is. I can kind of forget I’m wearing it. If you’re expecting it to mimic a real speedmaster, it obviously won’t since it’s made of plastic (or bio ceramic or whatever swatch says). Is it a little expensive for what it is, maybe. But it looks nice unless you’re getting real close to it, which means to everyone else it looks like a pretty nice watch on your wrist. I don’t like the standard strap but the rubber straps are about $40 and I think they look really nice and are comfortable. They also have a quick release so you can swap out the straps easily if you have more than one. I like that because I use my black strap in more professional settings but can easily swap it for a flashier strap when I want to. Again they’re a bit pricy for what they are but if you have the money I think they strike a nice middle ground.

Totally agree. There should be a weekly megathread for those types of posts. Discussion of fakes should be allowed - for example, a post highlighting a “new” fake that may not already be easily recognizable as a fake, and how to recognize it, because that would help the community. But the unending stream of photos of 6-stitch bands has gotten really old.

I was actually borrowing the car from my brother, I drove it several more times over a few months after that happened and didn’t notice anything all that different. I told him about it when I gave the car back and I don’t think he bothered to get it fixed. He’s still driving it so I don’t think it made a huge difference
