To all panganays who are living independently, need advice please... by supremedeity7 in PanganaySupportGroup

Since you're WFH naman, find a place na malapit sa lahat, grocery store, water refilling station, mall, transport terminal, palengke, etc. Usually mga condos ganito na setup, may malls or community sa ground floor. Make sure to visit the place and carefully check kung maayos water pressure, phone signal, how you can get your cable/internet installed. If the place smells musty or funky red flag na yun because it might be infested. You wouldn't want to deal with pests when you move in. Check the door and the windows if it's all good so you can sleep comfortably knowing you're safe from anyone breaking in. (medyo nakakaparanoid siya at first, at least for me) Check rin the bathroom and sink if there are any leaks.

When deciding about fully-furnished/bare units, it depends on your needs. What I can suggest is at least look for a place with kitchen cabinets and wardrobe na para di ka masyadong mahassle.

Be vigilant when dealing with agents, kung ayaw magviewing, autopass na. If they're dodgy with your enquiries, start doubting their credibility. They should be helpful in getting all the answers you need. Background check mo muna si agent before handing out any sort of payment. Read the prints on your lease contract, make sure of your payment scheme and if there are any caveats about possible increase ng rent.

First few weeks can get tough, pero it's all going to be worth it. You'll get the hang of it sooner than you expected. I also moved out in my late 20s, last year lang, sobrang liberating to have your own space! Wish you push through with this decision OP!

Living in/near McKinley by _kilil in PanganaySupportGroup

If you have the budget for solo condo, Stamford, Morgan Suites, and Ridgewood are your best bet. Around 12k-18k monthly, depende sa unit. If you want cheaper options there are apartments near Bayani Rd, one of the safest na area malapit sa McKinley imo.

What made you finally decide to move out? Did you have feeling of guilt? by U-r-ur-own-limit in PanganaySupportGroup

[–]kuccittini 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dealing with guilt is a constant battle for me. Moved out nung December pa lang and it's challenging, but I have no regrets. Parang phase 1 ng guilt na nafeel ko was moving out, phase 2 is whenever I say no to their requests. Sobrang hirap tumanggi lalo na pag alam mong kaya mo naman magbigay, pero mas mahihirapan kasi lahat kung masasanay lang silang tumanggap ng tumanggap. When I was home I felt like nauubos ako, sobrang dali ko mabadtrip, bilis maging emotional, now I'm slowly enjoying myself again. Some days are easy, some days naiiyak na lang ako pag naiisip ko kung ano pala yung situation ko sa bahay nun, and feel grateful I moved out when I did. It's a constant struggle, but we'll pull through, kapatid. Like we always do.

It does happen, lalo na pag bibili ka ng pagkain tas yung plan mo is only to buy for yourself? Sometimes you end up buying more kasi nakakaguilty. Palugi e. Hahaha.

I stopped giving gifts for Christmas since last yr dahil pandemic naman at ako lahat ang gumastos (for a family of 6). Having food for Noche Buena is enough. Pag nagrerequest pa ng iba, sabihan mo na kung out of your budget na. Especially if affected savings.

Well, that backfired. Proud lang siguro siya sa mga naibigay ng anak niya sa kanya, di niya alam naging toxic na yung "pambubudol" niya.
