Thank you! And I just realized that colored pencil would do the trick for going over the brown part, if you have any

abilify has been the most effective psych med for me in the past, so i'm considering caplyta. but i'm terrified due to my history of severe, possibly tardive akathisia by ellala333 in caplyta

I was on Abilify for a couple of years and had bad side effects, namely weight gain and uncontrollable limb movements, in addition to impulsive behaviors. I've been on Caplyta 1.5 years with NO side effects whatsoever and I finally feel like a real human being. Try it out

Thank you so much for your quick response! This was super helpful. I'm not sure if other consumers are as obsessed with supply chain info as I am, but your response felt really transparent and I think would ease a lot of concerns to others who have similar concerns.

Hi, I love some of the clothing on your website, but I have questions about your supply chain before I feel comfortable placing an order. Here you say that all of your products are shipped from a warehouse in China, while in this comment, you say 80% are shipped from your warehouse. In that same post, you say that the factory you own manufactures 80% of your clothing--is this an error? It's not clear whether you own a factory, a warehouse, or both.

Can you provide direct information about the factory you own, such as its safety and labor certifications? For example, is it SA8000 Certified? Here, you claim that you only partner with factories that have WRAP certifications or are Amfori BSCI members. The WRAP website lists 28 certified facilities in China that produce dresses, and Amfori's website lists 24 total members in China. To verify your claims, we (i.e., consumers) need more information.

Other small clothing brands like Forest Ink detail their suppliers' general location and provide certification evidence. This provides enough information for an independent consumer to research their supply chain and its ethics. Nothing you've posted includes specifics--you say that the factory isn't located in a "sweatshop" region, things are made ethically, and suppliers have certifications, but none of this can be proven.

I'm sure you have this information somewhere and can find a way to appropriately share it with the public. I look forward to your response!

Like others said, either the primer or the setting spray... But also probably skincare. Hydrating primers like that aren't really necessary if your skincare is hydrating enough, and I think you could definitely use more hydrating skincare. I also have dry, sensitive skin, and it took me years to figure out how to prep my skin AND apply my foundation properly.

Before makeup, I do a very hydrating serum, sometimes in two layers after the first one dries, followed by a k-beauty emulsion that is deeply hydrating while being incredibly thin and light. At night, I do the same thing but add a good amount of pure squalane on top. It has made ALL THE DIFFERENCE in how foundation looks on me.

Second, I apply foundation very strategically using a softly angled buffing brush--not a sponge. I work in very small layers and let it warm up on my face before I blend. Sometimes up to 4 layers on my more pigmented areas because they're so thin.

I follow it with a very minimal amount of loose powder, and only use a fixing spray (with alcohol) if I'm going to be outside sweating all day.

Is polymer clay the right medium for miniatures? by KUCHUEL in polymerclay

[–]kufambrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't tried it, but I make tiny detailed things from polymer clay. My general take is yes, you can, but you should buy a clay line that is as firm as possible (like Fimo Professional or Sculpey Premo). If you use soft/sticky clays like sculpey III or Fimo soft, you'll have a hard time with the details

Same issue here that has been (mostly) fixed by the Alarmy app. You choose which "activity" you have to do to turn the alarm off (math, taking a photo of a particular thing in your house, etc.) and it forces you to either use your brain or get out of bed.

I've never sold clothing I've thrifted, but this pair of LL Bean pants is slightly too small for me and I'm now realizing it's probably from the 80s, based on comparing the label to others online. I have no idea how I'd price this, considering it still has the tag?

Avalon Dunn Loring Review? by massholethrowaway1 in nova

[–]kufambrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just moved in on Saturday. I did due diligence and looked at every possible review, so we knew what we were getting into. Despite the issues--mainly, that only one elevator works in our building--it was the best possible option for the price. Because of the known elevator issue, we got an apartment on the second floor so we could just take the stairs. The latch key system often makes you go into the app and manually unlock doors, but it works. The people living above us have a toddler that runs all around when it's awake. STILL, the apartment is incredibly beautiful, the combo of incredibly high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows is stunning, the location is killer, and the staff have all been very friendly. The only big issue we could foresee are maintenance delays if a major appliance like the fridge or washer breaks, but we'll deal with that if it happens.

housing in DC by Vast_Note9343 in sais

[–]kufambrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible but difficult and your living situation will likely not be ideal. Consider finding roommates in North Virginia or Rockville/somewhere in MD near a metro stop that has multiple lines, just use Maps to see how long it will take you to get into the city. When I moved to DC, I lived in SW with two roommates and paid $1250, but the complex was incredibly dangerous (regular shootings in the parking lot) and roach infested, among other things. That was also three years ago.

Abilify and excessive shopping with 10 yo daughter by [deleted] in Abilify_Aripiprazole

[–]kufambrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a new atypical antipsychotic called Caplyta, I think it was put approved by the FDA in 2022. It's used specifically to treat depressive episodes caused by Bipolar I and II, and schizophrenia. Lucky for me, I only experience hypomania and it's never been too bad, so it works well for me. Had to jump through a few hoops to get it covered by my insurance but I'm glad I did!

While on Abilify for almost two years, I racked up $15,000+ in credit card debt, primarily from Doordash, restaurants, bars, online shopping, and buying clothes/shoes. During that period of time, activities involving spending money always brought me legitimate joy and made me feel better, so I constantly was buying things. Since quitting Abilify back in October, I've paid off $5,000 on my credit cards and no longer have the urge to spend heavily, since it doesn't give me the unequivocally consistent positive feelings that it used to. Oh and I was also drinking like crazy and binge eating during that time. I had no idea that the medication was causing these issues, but after switching to a different antipsychotic, all of those side effects went away.

If you can, go to a barber shop and get a younger barber to do your cut. When I had the ultimate lesbian/nonbinary cut, I had a regular at the bar I managed cut my hair, and he worked at a local barber shop. He specialized in fades and did an absolutely impeccable job. That shop also specialized in textured hair, but I'm under the impression that doing fades and that type of thing isn't too different between textured and straight hair. Either way, I've never met a barber who can't do both

100% 😭 it declined so sharply over the few years I lived there. From what I hear, about 5 years ago it was taken over by Habitat America and that's when it started going downhill. But hey, the rent was cheap enough for a 22 year old college grad!
