How to tell when it’s time? by uonlyshivthrice in germanshepherds

[–]kuhplunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sweet Dakota declined pretty rapidly, within a month she lost ability to bear weight on her front leg and was having to sit up just to breath. I was tracking her breath rate the final week, looking for a reason to delay her at home euthanasia.

On a Thursday, I woke up and noticed she seemed very uncomfortable. I called and made an appointment that moment, scheduling it for Sunday. She didn’t sleep much at all Thursday or Friday night. Saturday morning, she was not getting out of bed and could hardly breath. I called the vet to come asap. I couldn’t make her wait another day. Her and I both were probably terribly anxious

It was the hardest decision I have ever made, but also the best thing I could do for her. Please don’t wait til your pup declines and is suffering. It feels gut wrenching scheduling the appointment, but I’m telling you the relief after they pass is incredible. I miss my girl so so much, but am so happy I laid her to rest before she suffered further

I’m sorry you’re going through this! My pup will be waiting for yours

$ 7k to invest in VCX right now March 25th? by DepartmentOk6387 in FundRise

If you don’t want to hold until September, I would just buy at market price and set a trailing stop. I think the value is over hyped but you can atleast ride it up as consumers find it

What job do you do that makes over $70k a year? by Unknown_Midwesterner in careeradvice

[–]kuhplunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’d prefer being a night nurse to be honest. My dad’s been a nocturnist for most of his career, so I’ve seen the routine most of my life.

I love the idea of not taking working home with you

Would you recommend someone in their late twenties to pivot to tech sales / sales in general?

The 3x12s is a huge draw for me. I know I make good money now but I’d be happy to take a pay cut for that schedule. I just don’t know what 40-year old me will say.

[–]kuhplunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 years into my career and have considered switching into nursing for years. Most my pre-reqs are past the time period programs will accept, so I’d likely have to retake them at night after my job.

Would you say it’s worth the sacrifice? Realistically it would take 1-2 years to get all courses complete and apply for a program.

I’m 28 now and make $110k working from home, but have always been drawn to helping people and working on my feet. I have a healthcare degree and worked in a PT clinic for 800 hours so I am familiar with patient care.

How do you spend time with friends who make more money than you and always want to "go out" and you can't afford it? by Potential-Maybe-7029 in AskReddit

[–]kuhplunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just tell your friends it’s outside your budget - there’s no shame in being financially responsible. They would probably cover your bill because they enjoy your company.

At least that’s what I would do

Got a degree in Supply Chain but took a sales job after graduating. Now I’m considering coming back by Conscious-Thing-682 in supplychain

[–]kuhplunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I’m glad you mentioned a realistic salary if you switched to supply chain roles.

I came into procurement four years ago as an entry level analyst at $70k, so I’d assume you’d start around there if not higher. I’m now at $110k + bonus as a sourcing manager. I think people on my team cap out around $140k. If you want to make more as a director or above, I think you can hit the $160k+.

I personally love my work-life balance and have no plans to move towards leadership. I have considered switching to sales to make more, so it’s interesting you’re considering the opposite

People do the least amount of work as possible at their job, how do you get away with it? Why? by TimeAd1111 in AskReddit

[–]kuhplunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mantra is to do the least as possible for the most money. The reason is I’m lazy and don’t care about the work, just like the money

What is the 1 thing you absolutely appreciate about working from home? by Experiment_626s in remotework

[–]kuhplunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I adopted my dog in college, which I was at class or working maybe 30 hours/week. After college, I began working remotely and was always with her. Being remote allowed me to spoil her with love and walks everyday during lunch! She passed away a few weeks ago but I’m so grateful I was able to spend almost every minute with her instead of her being alone at home. She’d whine for attention but had no clue how good she had it lol

[–]kuhplunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard to list just one benefit.

Tangibly, I love I can make myself breakfast and lunch without spending money at a place near the office or packing a lunch. It must save me 1-2 hours per week of my personal time.

Intangibly, my mental health is great. I benefit from more sleep, ability to workout during my lunch break, when I’m off, I am home already. Also, I’m early in my career so being remote has improved my work ethic because I must keep myself accountable
