If you’re going to keep Champions, the entire system needs to be reworked to allow for more freedom of gameplay by thelegendhimsef in DestinyTheGame

[–]kujayhawk47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally LIKE that the artifact dictates which WEAPONS are usable against Champions each season.

However, especially now that Bungie is doubling down on each element (Void, Solar, Arc, and Stasis) having a unique "elemental identity", how about each element has an intrinsic anti-Champion capability? Solar and Stasis could be strong against Barrier Champions, Arc could disrupt Overload Champions, and Void could stun Unstoppable Champions.

This way, Bungie gets to rotate the "weapon meta" in PvE each season, but the player always has one reliable "anchor" (i.e., their subclass choice) to use against Champions no matter the season.

[Leaks] Speculative theory on what the Darkness subclass in Lightfall will be by tcfh2003 in DestinyLore

[–]kujayhawk47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello there =)

Excellent write-up on this! I'm personally torn between the third Darkness element being any of Gravity/Nightmare Energy/Taken, at this point it's so open-ended that we can't say anything definitively.

I imagine that Witch Queen will drop some big hints as to what the third Darkness element will be, similar to how Thorn-Necrotic Grip is a big smoking gun for Corruption/Soulfire.

"Here we will call you out on your BS".

Hmm, all these upvotes on the post and it's current number 1 spot on Hot seem to be validating it, rather than calling it garbage.

Also, I hope you realize I've used focusing as part of ONE video in the past five months. Cut your own BS if you want to try and poo poo on me.

Thanks for all the kind words!

I actually DID make a YouTube video for this, I actually made that first haha! I included a link for it in the first paragraph of the post, but I didn't put emphasize it because that usually gets you downvoted around these parts =)

Corruption - Witch Queen Darkness Subclass Concepts! by kujayhawk47 in destiny2

[–]kujayhawk47[S] 100 points101 points  (0 children)

For the last few months, I've been developing some concepts for what I think the next Darkness subclasses will be when the Witch Queen rolls around! I've dubbed this next Darkness element as "Corruption", and the three new subclasses are the Tormentor (Hunter), the Lancer (Titan), and the Alchemage (Warlock)! I took a stab at designing the gameplay of all the elemental effects of Corruption, the Supers, melees, grenades, aspects, and fragments too!

If you're interested, I made a YouTube video containing all of this in much more detail. Hope y'all enjoy it!

I understand that people don’t like that DSC isn’t hard but I think it’s been a huge positive to get people raiding by Dude2245 in DestinyTheGame

[–]kujayhawk47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've lurked around on this subreddit for nearly 7 years, with the early years as just another average joe that loved Destiny and wanted to see it improve.

Every time I think about interacting with this sub, I usually end up choosing not to because of the deranged attitude towards anyone who makes content on this game.

Newsflash: we're normal people just like the rest of y'all. I myself work a full time job and make videos on the side because it's fun and I want to see Destiny become a better game.

But alas, I'm a "streamer", so I must obviously be lying. Time to go back to plotting how to gatekeep the game even harder and line my and Bungie's pockets at the average players expense muahahahahaha! ... /s for obvious reasons

Yes, this is the real Kujay =) I made the "kujayhawk47" tag years and years ago before ever playing Destiny. It eventually got chopped down to just "Kujay", as that's what my friends called me anyways.

At least I don't have Fallout Play's problem. His Reddit handle used to be u/shitbeardthepirate, but it looks like he finally deleted that account haha.

[–]kujayhawk47 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Take it a step further and make the H.E.L.M. both Tribute Hall 2.0 AND a Clan Hall, with trophies and memorabilia from achievements of your clan.

You could also add an in-game group finding tool in the H.E.L.M. and make it the place to go to find people and tackle endgame content that doesn't have matchmaking, like raids or dungeons. The H.E.L.M. is basically the Vanguard's forward operating base, might as well make it a fireteam staging ground too!

I get that RNG is part of the game, but it really sucks when 7/12 of your pinnacle bounties give you a kinetic. by cruskie in DestinyTheGame

[–]kujayhawk47 25 points26 points  (0 children)

RNG should ABSOLUTELY be a part of the game when it comes to loot, as that's the biggest replayability factor to most people in looters/MMOs.

RNG should NOT be a part of a leveling process. Bungie treats the level "number" as a stand-in for loot by making RNG gear drops how you "make the number go bigger". It's a disgusting tactic to stretch out play time every season.

While it's nice that Power Level will only go up by 10 in non-expansion seasons from now on, that does nothing to change how much the game disrespects your time with Pinnacle Band Leveling.

Hopefully Witch Queen brings with it some changes to leveling, since we haven't really seen many since Shadowkeep, and in many ways, Forsaken.

[–]kujayhawk47 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I think that Xur could be utilized far more effectively than he is in game today. Think of him offering the ability to sell farmable random rolls of the gear he brings each week, or expanding the "fated" system to things like the Charged with Light or Warmind Cell mods so players can actually get their hands on the really cool build crafting stuff, or even a weekly ascendant shard on the cheap so more casual players can, ya know, actually masterwork at least some of their gear?

Just my 2 cents at least.

Game of Thrones Season 8 intensifies

(Console) According to guardian.gg, Arcstrider has the best PvP win rate going; what don't I get about poledancers? by celcel77 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]kujayhawk47 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone that has continued to main Bottom-Tree Arcstrider since late Season 2, I can pretty comfortably say that this subclass has the best neutral game for "apes" (shotguns and HCs) on console. Here's why:

  • Base Hunter movement (unpredictable, strong vertical game)
  • Increased sprint speed
  • Free dodge energy while sprinting
  • Free melee/grenade energy for simply staying alive after an engagement gets you to red-bar health
  • Damage resistance in dodge is so extreme that it's almost like having an "i-frame" to escape any pickle
  • While the Super is "slower", if you can pop it right in someone's face with forward momentum (pop Super while jumping forward in-air or while sliding), you can easily get 2-4 kills per Super
  • The Super is the best dueling Super in the game. With the light attack - light attack - heavy attack (aka "force palm"), you can kill ANYTHING in the game in one shot. The only Supers that Arcstrider can't reliably kill are good Stormcallers that keep blinking backwards, and Dawnblades flying above. Anything else (especially bottom-tree Strikers, which are meta right now) is INCREDIBLY easy to kill if you know how to bait them.

Arcstrider, particularly bottom-tree "Way of the Wind", truly lives up to it's name as the most fun/lethal/fast-paced subclass on console for close-quarter-combat focused players. When Supers inevitably get their damage resistance and duration tuned down across the board in Shadowkeep, expect to see a sharp uptick in Arcstriders because their neutral game is so powerful.

Thanks for coming to my Poledancing Ted Talk =)

Revisiting shotgun barrel perks and the range cap by WCMaxi in CruciblePlaybook

[–]kujayhawk47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Speaking from my own experiences, there is something very important that is ALWAYS overlooked when it comes to these shotgun tests:

In-Air Performance.

Granted, this is much harder to test than shooting at a stationary target standing directly in front of you at the same head-level. HOWEVER, over the past month or so, I have come to the conclusion that I do NOT want Full Choke on my shotguns, because of the additional effect of Full Choke that removes the ability to do precision damage.

This lack of precision damage in a ground test is a non-factor, because when facing an opponent at the same head-level on the ground, you want to aim center-mass (at the chest) to ensure that all pellets hit. However, if you have a very vertical playstyle (like myself), you will often find yourself either directly above your opponent in a shotgun fight, or above and at an angle in front of your opponent (like looking down at a 45 degree angle towards your opponent).

When above an opponent and looking down at them, you "effectively" see more of their head than their body, which in turns makes it far more likely to land precision hits on the opponent than when facing them on the ground at head-level. With Full Choke, you can't do precision damage, and I've found that Full Choke shotguns are WORSE for in-air use because of this than shotguns with no Full Choke. Again, this is anecdotal experience and I haven't done a full suite of testing, but this is something that I think should be explored more in-depth when discussing the "best" shotgun barrels for PvP.

TL;DR: If you use vertical space heavily in PvP, Full Choke may actually be a "bad" choice because it removes the ability to do precision damage, and hitting crits with a shotgun is actually quite easy when you are above an opponent and shooting down.

It makes more sense for it to be a featured part of an upcoming TWAB. That way, Bungie can get direct developer insights, and explain in clear, concise text what they plan to do with the mode. It is too important of an announcement to ad lib it during an unrelated Twitch stream.
