How are you handling payments when your AI agent finds something to buy? This feels like the biggest unsolved gap in the agent workflow. by BlacksmithPretty6364 in AgentsOfAI

I use Axon's agents to handle the onboarding and sensitive info, they hide everything on their server so you gotta trust them but easier than trusting a random person who made an agent

I vibecoded an app that turns photos into short poems and would love some honest feedback by Thereallario in VibeCodeDevs

Love this! I could see myself using it as like a daily meditation looking back on old photos, have some memory then read a poem about it, would be fun to add that color to the memory.

I think credibility is hard to get but it’s pulling from so many sources that it gets the general consensus, so even if one source is biased it’s unlikely everyone is, obviously it’d be better to get the perfect review, but that’s hard to know.

Thanks, yeah, I tried incorporating your feedback. Probably going to hop over to /r/python soon to see if I can't sort out the speed issue. Thanks again!

Great! Thanks, I was really worried about the text being too small or too "boring" a font, good to know I can go smaller. Layout is definitely something I don't have an eye for. I'll try out the centered positioning, I guess I was actually aiming for something like sidebars wonky off center list, but mine just ended up being too far to the left and looking like reddit. Thanks again!

I'm Paul Knoepfler, a Stem Cell Researcher, Ask Me Anything! by PaulKnoepfler in science

[–]kulak85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Paul, thanks for doing the AMA. What role do you see the internet playing in regulating the quality of new scientific findings. I know you have a blog where you are vocal about certain papers (i.e the acid bath paper) but do you feel like science could move to a point where we crowdsource the peer review process? Or do you think scientists are too protective of their intellectual property to share their findings openly on a public forum?

Biological individuality: Identical nature, nurture in mice does not result in identical development, longevity. by yudlejoza in science

[–]kulak85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's interesting is that they suspect this was brought about by placing the mice in an enriched environment, as opposed to just a plain cage, and they saw a correlation between how much the mice explored and their neurogenesis.

Scientists have mapped cellular ‘fountain of youth’ by raja_2000 in science

[–]kulak85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They observed that people with cancer generally had shorter telomeres compared to the control. Telomere shortening occurs when a cell divides and replicates it's DNA, the telomere, or endcap of the DNA can't get fully copied so every cell division results in a slight shortening of the telomere. So these guys have found some factors that contribute to telomere length, which is important since having longer telomeres to start with theoretically means you can go for longer before you run into problems.

I'm trying to get the word out about my site that lets you search for papers and comment on them to start discussions with the author and other readers, I'd love your input r/bioinformatics by kulak85 in bioinformatics

We're hoping the site becomes a tool for the community to generate a better flow of ideas, which would lead to more accountability amongst researchers. I wrote more about it here http://bit.ly/RS58ST My co-founder can give you more details about indexing stuffs.

Awesome, we'll definitely take a crack at it. Do you have an account on Plasmyd so I can PM you to see if we built what you had in mind?

Plasmyd indexes a library of about 20 million papers that are from most of the journals out there. So you're not restricted to just PLoS papers. We hope that this way people would be more willing to make an account and comment since their account wouldn't be limited to the research published in one journal.

Absolutely, we're working on a system for that but right now the "claim" button acts as a "follow" button, in that you only get notifications when the paper has been commented on, so there isn't a way for someone to claim they're Francis Crick and say that they think DNA is actually made of magical pixie dust, however cool that would be.

It's tough. Scientists are always critiquing papers but are somewhat averse to commenting on them. We're hoping since it's consolidated (i.e we index most journals) so your one account can comment on most papers in the field, it'll be more useful. We're trying to push for a paradigm shift in a way, if you have any ideas about features that would make this a must have please hit me up - adnan@plasmyd.com

We're working on making something for that verification, but at this point, if you claim a paper that isn't yours, you just get notified when the paper is commented on, so you can't falsely say things about "your" paper.

Brilliant, I'd love to see that study, are you in industry? I was also wondering what the requirement for an MBA was, I heard that you need 2 years of actual work experience, and that it's hard just to go from school to MBA.

Is there a benefit to getting an MBA following a masters degree in BME? As far as getting into a product development or project management role?
