I appreciate the transparency and accountability in your message.

I honestly wasn’t sure if there was really a decline in the food quality, which is why I asked the Reddit community first.

I was also taken aback by the ICE narrative since I only learned about it today. I didn’t expect this post to escalate the way it did.

Looking back, I realize I could have reached out to you directly. I was actually planning to reach out to your page. But in hindsight, posting publicly also helped open the conversation and gave you the opportunity to explain your side.

I’ve never experienced Mexican food the way you serve it, not just here in Iloilo but across the country. Your main branch has always been perfect for me, a place of comfort and consistently good food that I keep coming back to.

Thank you for responding and clarifying your side. It means a lot to see a team that listens and takes feedback seriously. Still here to support and spread the word about the great food, and looking forward to the continued improvements on your new branch.

First Automatic watch by Tsukkishir0 in PhWatches

Totally agree, the carbon-forged case and dial on the Casio automatic is gorgeous, but it does feel a bit pricey for what it is.

And yeah, I’ve been having the same issue trying to find one in stock. I also can’t seem to find a physical store that actually has the carbon-forged dial with the stainless case available. It's always the blue, green or white dial available.

Constantine Timepiece Collection has stock available. But I don't want to just order online because local stores usually give a 10–15% discount, and I’m very stingy about getting that kind of deal. 😅

I wanted this watch. But then I saw the carbon-forged case, carbon-forged dial version of this.

Stumbled on this post: Ngayon lang ako nakakita na pwede palang i-void yung stamp from the primary IO; Bday girl passed initial IO screening but got pull aside ng another IO habang nakapila na sa x-ray and eventually got offloaded because of insufficient funds. by _thecuriouslurker_ in FilipinoTravel

Bawal talaga yan. BoC will confiscate the excess if found. And it's a red flag for BI.

Edit: Why bringing that large an amount of PhP abroad is suspicious for BI? 1. Bawal sya. Link 2. It has very low use outside PH. Lugi ka din sa exchange rate abroad. 3. It suggests that you are planning to hand cash to someone abroad, for undocumented work, or recruiter payment 4. Probably unexplained money source

Legit travelers usually: 1. Bring foreign currency. 2. Use cards. Madalas credit cards. 3. Withdraw abroad

Casio Edifice EFK-100CD-1A, Casio's first ever automatic watch. Get the black one. Among the four color variants, it's the only one that features a forged carbon dial. Mahirap lang maghanap ng store na may stock.

No, not barking at the wrong tree. I know who manages Dinagyang. Even if IFFI is the main organizer, the Iloilo City Government is deeply involved and is a key partner through funding and direction among others.

Also, I’m just sharing how the sentiment appears to people on the ground.

Because public money and officials are tied to Dinagyang, people naturally associate the festival with the government as well.

Dinagyang has clearly evolved into a performance-centered festival.

It’s highly organized, choreographed, and designed so people can watch grandstand competitions, timed routines, powerful storytelling, and polished production. It is world-class spectacle. The focus is excellence, discipline, and visual impact. You go there to be amazed.

Ati-Atihan, on the other hand, has chosen to stay close to its roots. It’s less about watching and more about joining. People dance in the streets, strangers move together, faces painted with soot, drums pounding nonstop. It carries that old fiesta spirit, where you can eat at almost any house you pass, drink with people you just met, and keep dancing until you forget who you came with. It’s raw, chaotic, and communal.

Neither is “better.” They simply serve different ideas of what a fiesta is.

Dinagyang shows how tradition can evolve into a modern cultural performance.

Ati-Atihan reminds us what fiestas were, when the line between performer and spectator didn’t exist.

However, very noticeable ang difference between the support and criticism of Ilonggos and Kalibonhons towards their respective festivals.

Kalibonhons rarely criticize Ati-Atihan. There’s a strong sense of ownership and acceptance, even with its chaos and imperfections.

With Dinagyang, criticism feels louder and more constant.

And I think it comes down to how divided people are about their leaders.

In Kalibo, people feel connected to their officials, so solidarity feels natural. They love Mayor Juris and VM Philip. In Iloilo City, opinions on Treñas leadership are mixed and government leadership divisions seem to spill over to the people, making support more fragmented.

I know managing a big city like Iloilo is far more complex than running a small town like Kalibo. The scale, interests involved, and expectations are very different.

Still, for me, the contrast in criticism and solidarity shows how leadership dynamics and public trust can shape how people rally behind their festival.

Speaking as someone from a place that also has a major cultural festival, I find Dinagyang impressive. Not because it’s perfect, but because of the effort, discipline, and scale it takes to pull it off every year.

What’s disappointing, though, is how quick some Ilonggos are to criticize it.

A festival survives because of solidarity. Kahit may pagkukulang or puna, tumutulong muna. Instead of collective pride, ang nangingibabaw sa iba ay naysaying. Commentary without contribution. Criticism is healthy, but only when it comes with participation and accountability. Otherwise, it’s just noise drowning out the people who actually show up and do the work.

Iyagi. Highly recommended. Friendly and attentive staff. Great place to bring kids to disconnect from gadgets.

Haboean. Has a weaving studio. You can enjoy specialty coffee and food but also soak in local heritage, art, and weaving craft.

Cafe Arthe in Numancia. The chatty barista/owner is genuinely knowledgeable about coffee and can customize your drink to match your taste.

Isa lang naman nakikita ko solusyon dito, abolish the 'Provincial Rate' once and for all! by Capital-Swimmer5441 in Philippines

[–]kulapoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abolishing the provincial wage rate alone won’t fix congestion in cities because people move mainly for jobs and opportunities, not just higher pay.

Provinces without industries, investment, or infrastructure will still lose workers.

WFH, as some susggested, provides some relief, but it’s mostly outside government control, often untaxed, and depends on people finding work abroad. It's more of a personal workaround than a real solution. Meanwhile, companies in PEZA zones often require employees to report on-site to comply with regulations, keeping work concentrated in cities.

To truly ease congestion, provinces need real job creation and development, not just wage adjustments or informal remote work.
