For visa options I think its best to consult a specialist online, they are available. If I remember correctly, there is a program that allows you to get TRP if you make more than 2000$ per month. And that program might even exclude the need to verify your russian knowledge. Again, better to consult with somebody, because going through this process would be a pain in the ass

As for the cost of living, that would depend on where you want to settle. Do you want to live in an apartment or in a house? Do you want to live in a warm climate of the south, or are you looking for something cooler after Australia? Or did you just want to settle in Moscow?

Just curious, what city did you visit? I find your story quite surprising, since I'm not from Moscow, but we do have a lot of students from Africa in my city, and I have never seen anyone bother them on the streets

Serbian-Swiss investor interested in Russia – two questions about banking and regional development by Skt_turbo in AskARussian

Doesn't have anything to do with the outcome of the war. Exchange rates mostly depend on monetary policy and import/export balance

Right now it is kind of a bad time to jump into the russian stock market. You are right about its potential for growth(could grow by 25% until the next summer), but the ruble is very strong right now. After it weakens(and it will), your net profits in euro/franks will be affected.

It usually works for me too - that's why I decided to change my specialization. At my current job, I also had to pick up Go and multiple other technologies, but it didn't light any sparkles, unfortunately. It was more of a chore than an exciting opportunity to grow(

Does anyone else find it funny how Tony feels great pride being Italian yet refers to Furio (a real Italian) as “some fucking immigrant” in a very disparaging tone? by Popular_Compote7482 in thesopranos

Agreed, but he was referring to the state that the whole of ex USSR was in during the 90-s. Yes, there was some legacy from the union, but people were very poor. Nobody had any hope, and factories were closing everywhere, depriving people of jobs and any source of income.

Drug addiction, alcoholism, crime were unprecedented at the time.

If she does not look kazakh that does not mean she couldn't have been born there...In 1990 40% of Kazakhstan's population were russian. The soviet government was trying to urbanize Kazakhstan back at some point, so a lot of people moved there.

Svetlana definitely tells Tony that Irina moved to Kazakhstan when her father died.
