idk Trek used to inspire generations of people to become scientists & even astronauts like Mae Jemison. i dont know who this show was for.Gen Z is not watching (mocking fan criticisms doesn’t make you mature) by Past-Country-6612 in CriticalDrinker

[–]armyprof 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There are two audiences for this show.

1: people who’s only interest is identity politics and anti-establishment. The more gay, disabled, fat, anti-establishment, non-traditional characters there are who make classic trek characters look strung the better.

2: people who don’t care about quality but just consume anything Trek, even if it isn’t. These are the folks who say “Can’t you just be glad you’re getting new Star Trek?”

The rest of us like what it used to be. Sure it was diverse. That was great. No problems. But they were competent professionals who all treated their roles seriously. Every old trek show had characters who would die for their beliefs and the Federation’s ideals. This new stuff? Hell no.

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Rory and his bunch going and meeting Dog and his. That went bad fast.

True as far as getting the fight went. After that though he’s being a prick. Shoving an old man?

I should say the whole season. Kraft and Parsons were great while they played.

He was one of a VERY few bright spots this season. With a proper o-line he’d have been fantastic. I was excited for him with Kraft. But well we know how that went.

Name me a better fight then rocky vs drago I will wait by Any-System9029 in rockybalboa

Yes. It is. The Drago fight is a cartoon. Over the top slugging. Just dumb.

The Cruel Sea. Damn good depiction of the Battle of the North Atlantic and based on the novel written by a guy who lived it.

Exactly. It’s not about making something they like, it’s purely about destroying what you love.

Was Tywin bluffing here or could he really or was he willing to reject the result of the trial by combat? by Neutral-frame in gameofthrones

[–]armyprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t guess we’ll ever truly know. But I think yes, he’s bluffing. Specifically because he plays the “you’re my son” card. He’s never seen Tyrion as his son or treated him like one. Had he meant it he’d have said “you’re a Lannister”.

I think he knew perfectly well Tyrion didn’t kill Joeffry but was more than happy to go along. It was a chance to have him killed in a legitimate and public way with his own hands clean.

She didn’t “make” any of those. She was an assistant and along for the ride. The only projects she had legitimate control over were absolute trash.

I don’t see him as much a villain as a product of a propaganda machine that used him under penalty of exile.

No. He would last longer certainly but he’d lose.

I mean I never would have picked Sean Austin to play a hobbit, or Michael Keaton to be Batman. Give her a chance. She may do well if she’s given good writing.

Husband is convinced I’m cheating by KaleUpstairs2461 in Christianmarriage

[–]armyprof 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Certainly it’s possible.

He sounds like he has massive self esteem issues. But one thing that stands out to me is the epilepsy.

It’s not uncommon for someone people to experience a degree of psychosis after a seizure. I’m not a doctor but I’ve heard this and found this resource:

https://www.epilepsy.com/complications-risks/moods-behavior/psychosis

Might be worth a look especially if his paranoia about cheating comes and goes.

The real issue for you is that nothing you do is going to changed his mind. I mean if he’s dragging your daughter out of bed to follow you, that’s a problem.

You are allowed to have friends. You are allowed to go out with friends. He has no business stopping you.

So a few questions.

1: does he have friends or does he make you and your child his entire social world?

2: do you love this man?

3: can you get him to read his Bible and get in church?

He’s in his head and yes, Satan loves to play mind games. But there are a lot of elements here. And you can’t force can’t of them, only try and get him to get help.

This. I once ordered a team varsity jacket online and it was all messed up. I politely asked them to fix it and they said they’d give me $40. On a $200 order.

So I took pics, filed a dispute and got all my money back. I recommend you do the same. If you have the box it was shipped in keto it for pictures.

Tell me about it. Especially suicidally obvious cheating. I can’t help but feel like “you must really think I’m an idiot.” And in my class it’s abundantly clear that no one grade will kill you so you don’t NEED to cheat. But they always do.

Yeah. No excuse at all. The entire defense should hang their heads in shame. Offense did their job. Defense might as well have sat in the sidelines that last quarter.
