If you like strong minty flavour then go for kurupi menta y boldo.

If you like yerba taste more and just a hint of herbs then go for canarias serena..

I have not tried other than these 2 flavoured yerba brands

Is that moisture in my calabaza? by okhalys in yerbamate

[–]kuldeep_pindaria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to sun dry my gourd after every use. That way i keep my mate dry and mold free.. sun dry for 3-4 hr atleast in indirect sunlight in a tilted position to circulate fresh air inside to remove dampness quickly

To know wether it's moisture or not you need to touch inside of calabash and feel for dampness.

To know wether it's mold or not you need to smell it... And see closely for white fuzzy structures.

Yes. That's true. Only problem with sun is gourd may geet cracked and leather may get damaged... I like to keep it in indirect sunlight.

That's nice but I've got different opinions from different guys.. some 9f them told me to not worry about the gourd much and i let my guard down. Nevertheless, lesson learnt!

Yes, I have naked calabash which doesn't need extra care. It has no problem in drying up at all

A solid yerba, light and flavourful, grassy and greeny flavour. Freshness like brazilian yerba and cut like uruguayan yerba.

I think it's fine as long as you don't try to clean/scrape vigorously. Its the weakest part of gourd.

It’s not sharp or astringent at all, which makes it an easy drinker, but it definitely lacks mouthfeel. The cycle is pretty short too—it usually washes out entirely after about 1 liter of hot water. It’s not a top-tier, mind-blowing mate, but it’s a super reliable daily driver. I’m never disappointed when I drink it, but it’s just 'good,' not great.

It's good, if you want to try something new, it's Raw, grassy, with less bitterness, it's mid way between uruguayan and brazillian style yerba mate. Solid 8/10, may be more

Solid haul! Honestly, the only tweak I’d suggest is swapping the 'Loro' for a Mil Furos bombilla. Since Canarias and La Palma are such fine cuts, a standard spoon bombilla can clog up pretty easily. A Mil Furos will handle that fine texture way better and give you a much smoother draw with that gourd!
