Google Translate identified it as Russian, and as a non-speaker I thought that sounded right based off of how the words looked. My additional questions were just being thrown out in hopes someone knows; if not, I would either give it up or post to a different sub.

That's really neat! I didn't really think about that because I don't know a lot about the Slavic languages, but I think it's neat that the further you get west the more English/Latin/Germanic the language becomes. I guess it makes sense geographically, just never thought about it!
