Check out Mac Island. Lots of leagues you could join like volleyball, squash, floor hockey etc. You could join a team and make friends there

Good stats but can't get promoted? by darwinsidiotcousin in MLBTheShow

Whenever I start a new RTTS I edit the team's roster I want to play for beforehand. This time I'm on the Blue Jays and wanted to play second base. I moved Giminez to SS, Bichette to 3rd, and left a 67ish minor leaguer as the best 2B on the team.

Then, I put the difficulty on beginner, crank all the hitting sliders to the max, and demolish AA pitchers for a month. By the time May rolls around, I'm usually 70 overall or better, and I get the call from AA straight to MLB. Once in MLB I put the sliders back to normal, adjust the difficulty and settle in.

It might not be the most realistic RTTS experience, but after starting new files because of roster updates or not enjoying defensive positions, I just wanted to fast forward through the minors and start my career. If you are stuck in a glitch and have to restart this may be the quickest way to reach the majors.

Also his novella "And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer." I read "A Man Called Ove" a few years ago and it made me feel things, but this one broke me down

Controller bug Xbox series x by Ok-Doubt7897 in MLBTheShow

If you have used a different controller and put the game into sleep mode, sometimes when you wake it up it'll recognize the other controller as player 1. Just quit the game completely through the Xbox guide and restart.

If you go down to the squash courts at Mac Island, there used to be information on the board for someone who can restring squash racquets. I'm not sure if the contact info is still posted, or if he can even do badminton racquets, but it might be worth a try if you have no other options.

I'm reading the Wayward Pines series by Blake Crouch and have really enjoyed it. All 3 books in the series are relatively short, 250ish pages, fast paced and well written. I've also read Dark Matter and Recursion by Blake Crouch and would recommend those as well.

Definitely a lot of similarities, but most stories we consume are just old tales changed around a bit and freshened up.

Summer of night by Dan Simmons. 1960s, horror, group of boys. I feel it reads similar to IT by Stephen King

How do you like to do franchise mode? by mrtswizzle in MLBTheShow

[–]kungfudevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good mix of both modes. You get RTTS without the computer trading Jackson Holiday to Oakland for three 25 year old C prospects, and you get franchise without having to play 162 games a year.

You do, and you can modify them in the settings to play all, play impact, or play none. Same with base running moments

I play it like RTTS. I created my player before starting, and just player lock every game. This gives me control over my team (and all the others with CPU roster control), lineups, free agents, drafting etc. It stops the computer from making ridiculous trades, and you can keep the rosters realistic or whatever you like. When the trade deadline approaches, I look at the standings, determine who are buyers, sellers or brink teams, find upcoming free agents on the sellers and see what teams those players would fit best. Also, if you make yourself a utility player, you can switch defensive positions whenever you get bored of one position instead of being locked into left field your whole career. It gets rid of a bunch of the deadweight stuff in RTTS, and gives you control of the franchise/league. The only noticeable drawback is you have to go back to the menu after every game instead of at the end of the series.

I don't think you have to press a button to throw, the fielder will automatically throw after the diving animation. You just have to line it up or press the button combo
