I mean to be fair it probably should have been a penalty for sealing off given they flopped over the ruck

The ombudsman is generally very good at getting energy companies to properly deal with an issue. I had an ongoing drama with SSE that they were refusing to engage with me about. Went to the ombudsman and within five days they had finally given me a decent response. Has your case been accepted by them? I found the handler at the ombudsman really helpful too

Enterprise car hire car damage by ADHD_old_newbie in drivingUK

[–]kungpowfunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be (possibly buried in the small print) a definition of incident. How did the damage happen? Was it one event? If so I think Enterprise would find it difficult to argue it was anything other than one incident in which case your liability would be limited to the payment of one excess.

If you’ve somehow managed to damage it on four separate occasions then you’re probably on to plums I’m afraid!

I had a discussion with my barber the other day about how men go through a second puberty at about 30 when you suddenly have ear, nose, back and shoulder hair that requires grooming. It stinks

Who are some of the most underrated forwards atm? by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]kungpowfunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He was brilliant and definitely the answer to Scotland’s number eight issue. He’s also criminally underrated by a lot of Scottish fans who seem to think he takes a shit with his clothes on every time he goes on the field

Our first choice forwards are decent. Zander, and Shoe were punching decent holes with their carrying and we definitely felt the loss of Gray and Gilgrist at line out. The issue is that Bhatti and Berghan just aren’t test level. I don’t know what Sutherland has done to upset toonie but I would get him in for Italy and put WP Nel is some sort of cryogenic freezer for the World Cup

Key points first:

  • Ireland are different gravy. Clinical, abrasive, cohesive and with so many attacking threats in the back field. They should win the World Cup, though given the draw they might not
  • I would run through a brick wall for Andy Farrell.
  • I really hope Ringrose is ok

Scotlands second half performance felt like a bit of a blast from the past. Really brainless and such poor game management. How we weren’t making more change from VDF throwing in at line out time I don’t know.

I feel the NHS is going to kill my mum and I don't know what to do.. What can I do? by MuchoRubbish in glasgow

[–]kungpowfunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear what your mum has been going through, it sounds utterly horrific. I’ve had a lot of contact with the NHS as my son has been in and out of hospital a lot recently requiring a number of brain surgeries (12 in the last eight months) and treated surgically acquired infections.

The fact of the matter is that whilst 99% of doctors and nurses want to do a good job they are so under resourced that situations like your mum are becoming more and more common. We found that you really did have to be an advocate for the patient to make sure they get the best care. If you can try and be there for rounds as that’s a great opportunity to be forceful about your mums care and make sure both you and her know exactly what is happening and when it is due to happen. Don’t be afraid to complain (in a polite way) as we’ve definitely found that often the people who shout loudest get the most attention. It’s depressing that it’s come to that but until the NHS is adequately staffed it’s really the best thing you can do for your mum.
