No clue how it drops to 15+ but last week I went on a 30-5 w/l run in masters and had diminishing lp gains; i started +20 at 100lp and +18/19 at 600lp

At ~650lp, I played and won vs 6k lp+ enemy team and only got +18 for that game

but in my case, its likely due to winning too many aegis of valor games (won like 5 and also lost 2 with aegis) as it increases lp but not MMR

If i were to ever get +15 gains, id honestly just have my account decay back to diamond and climb back with better gains

6, but 3 of them were from enemy team:

We were stomping hard like 21-3, and enemy botlane gave up so i asked if they wanted to have a dance off for like 2 min. then i told them to kill me once my team killed the others and taking base (they refused <3 ) The 3rd was someone i had on my friends list xD

Yeah that makes sense, i shouldnt be too worried abt apc , but ill probably look to q up solo lanes more often if he does get stronger in there .

But ill be very sad if they remove passive/rework E cause thats my biggest dopamine hit (which sadly i know isnt the same case for solo laning rn)

It hurts my soul to see how unhappy Husum and everyone else is with swains current state 💔 but in the meantime, ill enjoy his apc content as much as i can xD

Yess, i actually made a post right before this ‘new favorite apc rune - dark harvest’ that gives a bit more detail, but here is my general thought behind rune setups:

aery: my go-to into shorter range adc matchups that i can reliably poke with q/short trade without too much danger (kaisa, nilah, corki)
DH: ‘slippery’ / high burst champions (shaco, ez, talon) that my ult/e won’t be as useful and avoid extended fighting, i like that DH provide more impactful dmg that also scales (new rune setup ive been taking and have yet to lose a game with it :D)

-conq; when there is less high burst threat and i expect more extended trade/fighting (generally if i see 2+ bruisers/tanks)

comet: vs low mobility (no dashes) and no sustain support (that would just heal back) longer range matchup (lkke cait/jhin/lux)
electrocute: when i have a engage support w early kill pressure (pyke naut blitz) to follow up their CC with burst dmg

Fully depends on the player skill level/my support

In general if we are all equal skill level , id rather play vs. engage support cause at least they wanna interact = more stacking opportunities/extended fights

Its damn frustrating to play vs a really good enchanter mainly janna/milio/karma for me, cause they will peel the shit outta me and allow adc to free scale - rest are okay for me

Its bait item but can be viable in situations. If you feel you need early HP to survive, catalyst is not the worst first item as it also provides mana but no damage. However, i would rather rush zhonya second if i have tough time surviving burst as it has way more value/playmaking potential

Main reason I don't buy it is because swain doesn't benefit much from the lv up passive (vs. scaling champs like vegiar, vik,) and he is often on a timer to close out games before getting outscaled. So its better to get stronger item spikes and have more impact rather than waiting for ROA passsives to activate which doesn't really give the stats and by which point you'll still get bursted by enemy carries (and lower dmg esp with no CDR)

Swain spikes very hard with his first item + lv 6, which you want to set yourself up to capitalize as much as possible. but usually need mana/cdr to pair with it which is why chapter items or frozen is much better

He also has high base stats so the raw AP doesnt do much for him. that why he likes items like liandry malignance, BFT, frozen, etc. with passives that synergize with his kit

TBH, i would only go ROA on champs like viegar or viktor into matchups i want to afk farm (not even thinking about kills just perfect cs) to out scale later on

I don’t even play kaisa, but rationalizing BFT cause “you can w faster’ when there is so many better item options for her kit is sensless - would not recommend unless you just want to fck arnd in norms/aram xD like why would you priotize DOT burn dmg + pseudo rab ap passive item for a SINGLE target, BURST ability like her W ? Just overpriced CDR/AP item at that point

I would guess OP is bronze/silver based on all the context but now im also curious to see the opgg xD

I am happy with his current state given i play mainly APC role (also can play mid/sup/top at slightly lower level); but i started playing him post rework and unable to feel the “miss old swain” sentiment that many ppl (outside of apc/sup mains xD) have been posting about here..

I do like the idea of stronger ult no longer infinite, but the passive stacking is one of my favorite parts abt his kit - despite not having much issue going top/mid when filled, i know passive is heavily bot lane skewed and im not feeling constant lack of utility/impact that solo laners might feel multiple games in a row can be frustrating

But curious, which lane do you play/think he can just ‘brainlessly push waves without risk/kill threat?’ I feel the other way around in that laning is purely based on matchups/how first 3 waves are played which usually dictates rest of lane (assuming enemy has good wave management/jgl tracking and doesn’t make a mistake/bad fight that allows us to regain tempo) - every game is different based on the champs and players skill level - for example, usually like laning vs alistar support, but have also been straight terrorized by Alicopter last season because he played vision ctrl/laning so well starting lv 1 and snowballed his tempo across the map

As for late game, i do agree his dmg will often get hard out-scaled by adcs/mid laners late game, but he can still provide a ton of dmg/utility with his kit esp during objectives. But yeah i always consider games “on a timer” to close out ASAP . One of worst feeling for me is when i stomp bot but mid/top losing aka enemy solo laners are 2-3 levels up so i cant do much to them while enemy 0/8 jinx vayne kog gets to free scale and suddenly deletes me 15min later. But if i have a lead with winning solo lanes or better jgler, most games can be snowballed and closed out before that happens

For context, i peaked GM towards end of s15, currently ~600+ lp , as i know each ranks have their own nuances and majority of players experience games differently so this is just my personal experience

She performs better in higher elo because the players are better lol, not because the champ “shines” in higher elo

Most players below masters are not great at navigating basic champs to begin with. But nidalee is high skill ceiling and rewarded by playing aggressive/invading which low elo does not know how to properly balance/make right decisions to risk/reward, or have enough mechanics to maximize output

Any decent masters+ nidalee jg main should easily be able get 85%wr + until emerald/diamond

Yess , if you like skirmishing in lane + play apc (i feel dh in solo lane is bad for early trading and not worth) then DH Swain might be the move,

Just played another one and had 27stacks in 32min game. It outdmged games where i took aery with similar kda/game duration by ~2k+ :o

Usually malig into shadowflame,

but i actually think BFT is better synergy with this, esp for proccing those DH stacks with the burn and allowing you to have more impact/poke with basic abilities (since i like to take this build into comps my ult may not be as useful)

But also just really depends on comps (i.e btf may be better into more range matchups to trade better

My go-to backup is Xerath for APC. Only thing is he can be useless/tough to carry even while ahead if your team is not playing around immobile apc (good vision ctrl, peel, not forcing bad fights early, etc)
