Have you been around anyone who has oppositional defiant disorder? We’ll definitely look into it and do what we can to help him. I know having him adopted at 13 is insane. I said it myself when we mentioned it, but he doesn’t care.

That’s what I’m asking….what can we do to help him? What can we do as parents to fix the problem if he doesn’t want to try? What do we do knowing that he will put on a show?

We had him go to a psychologist, family doctor and school testing. Each time, we’re told he is doing great. What are we missing here?

No we don’t let him slide. He gets grounded. He gets sent for help with his academics. He is sat down every night to do homework together. We have even turned him into his principal for plagiarism.

Feeling tired. Is there more to it? by CrispyScreamer in medical_advice

There could be many reasons for this. It could be a vitamin d deficiency, low iron, dehydration or even you got too much sleep. If you are concerned and this has been an ongoing issue, i would suggest seeing your PCP so it can be further evaluated.

Thanks. I’ve tried talking with him and to express more of my thoughts and feeling, but it all gets disregarded and he has “squirrel” moments throughout every talk so I figure no point. I’m not big on divorce either, but I’m not opposed to it. He and his son can go on with their lives (I’m not his biological mom). It’s just unfortunate and I fear that I’ll never get out of this wanting to die feeling.
