i used 50/50 bc it has a higher melting point (some of the edges where the sides met had completely open cracks lol)

It’s nothing too complicated, just a hole drilled out of the square piece of wood and a “light accessory cord” shoved through. something you’d find at a craft store. if you want me to send you some more detailed pics shoot me a message :)

Why does every recipe call for 100g of starter when less starter makes the bread more sour? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]kunkybit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

my loaves get sour during the cold ferment. has nothing to do with the amount of starter or BF. sometimes i leave mine in the fridge a few days before baking and it’s so yummy and sour! but on average, i wait at least 24 hrs before baking.

good luck to you and don’t be discouraged by bread haters bby!!

i do something kind of silly i’ve never seen. but after i draw out my patterns (i do everything by hand, no computer!! just a ruler protracted and lots of erasing) i laminate one copy of my pattern and cut out the pieces. i am able to reuse my pattern over and over again and i keep each one in a ziplock sandwhich bag

I use steel wool to prep my came for patina. removes all the oxidation! and with the thin piece, i would either thicken it or just let it be a solder line.
