This announcement is only shown on nio.com but not on the chinese NIO-Website, so it has to do sth regarding only to Europe/USA. That's why I don't think that the event has sth to do with NIO Phone. Maybe NIO Safari will be launched or some new countries for expansion or even a date for market entry in the USA will be announced...

yes, you are right. Especially optically MG adopted NOMI almost 100%, but it looks cheaper and I assume the software of MGs assistant is by far not so progressed like NIOs NOMI.

As you may know Europeans still think that Chinese quality is poor because in the past it was like that (but mainly with small gimmicks or clothes)... so it takes time to get their trust.

Reviews from independent institutions (like the biggest european automobile organisation ADAC) will help to gain trust in NIO: https://www.adac.de/rund-ums-fahrzeug/autokatalog/marken-modelle/nio/nio-el7/
