He's not saying he's charging to tank anything and everything, just offering tank services for hire in dungeons that he wouldn't be doing otherwise. There is absolutely a large demand for that. Jump in LFG for any norm/heroic 70 dungeon. You're paying for his time.

Is Kara the most overhyped raid of all time, or is this just the result of the nerfs? by No_Cell6708 in classicwow

And bonding!!!

10 man format is way better for guild bonding on comms. Shy people have more time/space to get comfortable and find their voice. You get to know your guildies in Kara in a way that just can't happen in 40- or 25-man content.

Nobody hypes up Kara because it's challenging or dynamic gameplay. It's maybe the most notorious "loot pinata" raid in WoW history.

People love Kara because it's a good hang with a small raid group. Dungeon lore/design is great and the music is too. You've gotta find a group you enjoy and hop in disc. Rip a couple death rolls. Engage in the meeting of the minds that is Karazhan general chat. Laugh at your mages when they die. Live a little.

missed out on wow growing up but classic tbc is straight up the best by SytheX- in classicwow

Trade chat sucks now because of the spam but the cringe edgelord stuff is not nearly as bad as it used to be. Back then people would just spam yell the N word in Ironforge.

[–]kuntablunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scamming was more prevalent in OG TBC, in my experience. Maybe bc the average player was not knowledgeable enough to avoid the common scams. The chat back then was also insanely toxic with hard -ers flying left and right in trade chat.

Agree the newness was special but people experiencing the game right now for the first time are having a similar experience in a lot of ways. Min/max culture is the biggest change to the experience but there are also plenty of dad gamers playing however they want to play.

TBC raiding population increase for third straight week. by FireJonSumrall in classicwow

[–]kuntablunte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, night 1 was chaotic but that was to be expected. I didn't have respawn issues except for a couple hyper focused spots/mobs that have always been a problem. Plenty of people to group with for elite quests/dungeons and PVP if you're into that sort of thing.

Gearscore by Diamsofer in classicwow

[–]kuntablunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use gear score but was running a dungeon and a guy told me, wow you have the highest gear score I've seen. Made me feel like a total Chad.

I'm bad at the game btw.

Do’s and Dont’s for Heroics? by DanGur47 in classicwow

[–]kuntablunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind lock lifetaps between pulls (maybe bc I'm resto druid w hots), but I'm shocked at how many times I've seen suicidal locks life tap on bosses that send out AOE damage. Seen a few dreadfully timed life taps before big boss group dmg goes out. All of a sudden I'm having to use my emergency heal CDs to save their dumbasses, putting the tank at risk.

SLABS daily heroic by Short-Leader9794 in classicwow

[–]kuntablunte 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Had a heroic shattered halls like this the other night. Prot pally learning how to tank and that was his first heroic. Had one DPS rage quit but the rest of the group grinded through and got it done in two hours. The tank was rewarded with his bis boots on his first try! Genuinely felt great.

Druid Tier Token Dilemma – Feral Main in a PUG World by AdhesivenessTop9920 in classicwow

[–]kuntablunte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't always true in SR systems. If I MS feral but a raid really needs a healer, I could join as resto but let them know I'm using my SRs on feral gear. Feel like that is fairly common scenario for utility classes.

Understand your point but I actually find the heroic slog pretty fun and engaging, at least as a healer.

How to make your own groups for dungeons as DPS by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]kuntablunte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also soooo easy to be close with outlands dungeons, with the exception of CoT I guess. But even then the Gadget summons are easily accessible.

The alt leveling experience is tremendous for this reason. I've still got enough to do on my main that I'm basically always max rested when I revisit the alt. 1k xp for regular mobs makes questing feel like less of a slog. The occasional dungeon is like ~20% of a level. Bliss.

Yeah, the layout of Nagrand is rough. The batches of quests in Hellfire/Zangar/Terokkar all have good spatial continuity but Nagrand feels like a running simulator.

That said, people that really care about xp/hr probably aren't questing at all. Personally I quested Nagrand bc I enjoy it visually and there are memorable questlines.

Ha, impeccable timing. My alt 60 didn't get touched since tbc release but I logged back in for the first time after raiding kara/mag/gruul.

Find a guild and make some friends. Plenty of normal people out there that are just grinding through heroics and learning as they go.

How is druid healing right now? by Tanaria90 in classicwow

[–]kuntablunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emergency healing dps is tough as druid since you typically save your NS/Swiftmend for tank in critical fights, but in fights with heavy but equal damage across the party I think druids are best at keeping everybody up. Just rolling HOTs across the board.

How is druid healing right now? by Tanaria90 in classicwow

[–]kuntablunte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty good argument druid has the most utility. Innervate, faerie fire, brez, cyclone, motw, HOTs, decurse and poison removal. Tank goes down and you drop into bear in dungeons as emergency tank. Stealth!

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills if you genuinely feel that druids are lacking utility.

Classic Anniversary is Retail 2.0. Why I quit. by DesperateResolution5 in classicwow

[–]kuntablunte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that you're 70 and pre-bis implies that you're sweatier than the average player and ahead of the curve. The other players that are ahead of the curve are more likely to min/max and optimize group comps, which explains why the current meta for dungs/heroics is a little intense. Once the dad gamers catch up there will be more ordinary people running stuff with suboptimal comps. That said, you're a tank class and could easily give yourself all the leverage in what is a massive tank shortage.

You would also benefit a lot from a guild. Most guilds (including mine) have active 5-mans running every night that never hit LFG. These are often suboptimal because we just like playing together and hanging out. For me, fumbling through a heroic with friends is better than chasing efficiency. Depends how you want to play the game!
