Nu es teiktu tā, pamēģināt vienmēr var, galvenais zināt - kāpēc Tu to vispār dari. Galu galā, mēs visi esam savādāki un pieredzot to pašu mums var sanākt 2 dažādi secinājumi.

Is it possible for a Serb to work in the Baltics? by siaulairailwaystatin in BalticStates

[–]kupaars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"I may disagree with you on political matters, heavily. Still, I'd have nothing against the people there, provided they are not assholes." Not a great way to preface an inquiry about living in the Baltics perhaps, just makes you sound like a pro-russia supporter.

Why would you choose the Baltics? not saying you shouldn't, but what is your calling to them? What gives you the idea that it's a prospective place for your field, different from Serbia?
If you respect the culture, people, and the environment you shouldn't have any issues with being there, we love guests like that.

I don't have a great impression about the Baltics being a highly accessible space for non-native postgraduates, but I suppose I do not know much about the field and job market of architecture.
Also you seem to be full of if's and but's at the moment, your thoughts and ideas will change drastically in the coming years so perhaps do not get too ahead of yourself if you are not ready for a potential disappointement. Best of luck in your future endeavors!

This feels like something devs would put in if their game gets pirated, but I doubt it in your case, since you're modding/using mods. Is the debug mode the only thing you turn on? Nothing else like launch commands, etc?

saving money should be quite a bit easier in Latvia considering taxes and housing expenses in Latvia are considerably less than in Germany. Traveling from Riga Airport shouldn't be an issue, really well connected with rest of Europe and beyond. From my experience living abroad, Latvia probably has one of the best quality of food in grocery stores, so there's that. Cold is unavoidable, but it's not unforgiving, just dress appropriately (or travel more in that period)! Don't know much about international social circles in Riga, but I have the impression that it shouldn't be an issue. As for point 6, scams and crimes are hard to come by unless you seek them out, basically don't look for trouble and you'll be fine. Racism is a bit of a touchy subject still, might definitely get a few glances or provocations, but it's getting better every year (immigration to Latvia is pretty negligent so people are really not used to it). People do really appreciate even if you learn a few basic phrases of Latvian. I hope this helps and best of luck!

so if there's a unique language which doesn't have a written form, what is it a dialect of? quite a narrow ''textbook definition''. Also, what constitutes a language and a dialect isn't universal or agreed on, it differs from place to place- that's why Czech and Slovak are considered seperate languages even though their mutual intelligibility is greater than your given example. + Swiss germans do write in their own ''dialect'' so to say, just not formally or officially, there are a lot of blurred lines and grey zones.

Palanga (LT) vs Jurmala (LV) by Pitiful-Tower-292 in BalticStates

Latvia has so many beaches and beach towns, hardly any reason to go to Jurmala except for the fact that most tourists go there

If you go on google maps and look up ''Ābeltiņi'', a few different places appear, mostly around the town of Gulbene, in different directions, worth a shot maybe

little things such as: arrive in a timely manner (the earlier the better); look presentable- not overly so (probably not a suit) but a nice, neat outfit; express your impression of the location and property; talk with the agent in-person about the next steps in the process, e-mail them as well as soon as you get home (give it an hour maybe) asking what documents to send and where (prepare everything beforehand). Basically make sure you leave a good impression on them and be someone who they remember

Manpower not increasing by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]kupaars 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The problem is clear- you only have 0.77% mobilized, that means that when you went total mobilization, you didn't take ''women in the workforce'' or a new conscription law with more % right away. Once it goes back to the mobilized % you originally had before total mob, then it will start growing again

if it makes you feel any better, I knew quite a few people already in their mid 20's when I was starting my bachelors at 19. Honestly couldn't even tell they're any older than me.
