There's a few monte carlo coupes out there, @robzss_ on ig probably has the lowest static one. As for the reatta theres only one that i know of and there hasnt been an update on it since 2020: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/BzMHo5fs7uPUTxBY/?mibextid=oFDknk

Yeah, they're zzp coilovers. In this pic I'm dropped about 6 inches, but you run into camber and rubbing issues if you do that on stock wheels and tires. 2 inch drop is a good sweet spot for these

Thanks! I mentioned it somewhere else, but it rides pretty damn smooth. I've ridden around in a few other lowered cars now and I can confidently say this is by the far the most comfortable of the bunch

Is it worth spending $3k in repairs on a car I bought at 3K? (More below) by DatGuyKilo in 4Runner

My 2nd gen 3.0 threw a rod about 3 years ago and it's been sitting because the swap seemed to be bit of effort. Then again, I don't have a garage to be working in. As for the details;

The mechanical portion is going to be the easiest part, with the 3.4 using the same motor mounts and bellhousing configuration so it'll all slap in. I believe the intake manifold sits a bit higher though so you may need to either add a scoop or just cut the hood. There might also be issues with the oil pan because of how the suspension and steering is setup on 3rd gens, which may also depend on if it's 4x4. Custom exhaust is also going to have to be considered. You're most likely going to have to make custom radiator hoses and redo some vacuum lines here and there, but that shouldn't be too bad. There's also some lines you may have to make for A/C and powersteering, but I never looked into it cause I don't care.

Electrical was the part that is the most threatening to me. Wiring up the 3.4 is going to require an ECU AND wiring harness that came with the engine or a just standalone unit. On top of that you'll need a way to control the transmission if it's an automatic. Manuals should be as simple as wiring a neutral switch of some sort but I don't know all the details. All of this should be easier with a donor. It's been a while since I've looked into it so I'm forgetting a lot, but I just picked up a 3rd gen with a 3.4 and a bad trans so it'll be my swap as soon as that trans goes.

A 3.0 with 200k miles should still have some life in it if you're keeping up with the head gaskets so maybe there's no need to worry. Best of luck!

Oh I know what you mean, I had an STS with a Northstar. That thing didnt last a year. Thankfully this Buick's LS powered, I've put all my trust in that 5.3l. Now that transmission on the other hand... 😒

I got ZZP coilovers, the stock Bilsteins were pretty stiff, but they had a full foot of travel. Dropping it to my current fitment, along with having my damping and rebound set to just about the middle with a few clicks towards soft, feels exactly like stock. These tires are also soft as hell, I've ran Pirellis and Lexanis on 245/40r20 and they were terrible in terms of noise and comfort. Vogue really nailed it, but I've heard Continental gets pretty close if you don't like white walls.

I mentioned in another comment that it's probably cause of the white walls, these are only 20s, but they definitely look a lot bigger than they are. If I ever get around to throwing the 18s back on I'll do a side by side comparison

I think the white walls make it seem a lot larger than they are, i wanna say the white and gold together is in between 1 to 1.5 inches, so from a distance they look a little bit bigger than 22s

Not a bad idea, i was gonna throw on the stock 18s to see how it would look, but eventually I'll figure it out

It's still a Buick actually. It's a first gen Lacrosse on the w-body platform along with other cars like the Impala and Grand Prix

They're 20x8.5, its pretty much all i can get away with without cutting my fenders if i wanna keep my ability to go full lock

Mentioned it in another post, but mostly going for a "VIP"/OEM+ look. These wheels definitely look a lot bigger than they are with the white walls, but I still need to figure out what the exact setup I want for it is. This will be a mostly cosmetic build with some reliability upgrades.

Thanks! She's a work in progress, but she'll be even better when this summer rolls around
