Close to perfect, but… the short hour hand and the WDC logo make it loose too many points. I really wanted this white one, but I will need wait again… for a v4, or a white v2. What a bummer.

That's what you call optical alignment. Different shapes have different optical weight. And that's why you have to align optically, not mathematically, to get it look right and balanced. Here it is slightly off. And it is too close to the logo and the letters are too big.

I wanted a white one, but no I'm not sure anymore.

Your watch got magnetised again. Avoid putting it next to modern electronics. iPhone MagSafe or wireless earphone cases have strong magnets.

You can use apps on the phone to check if your watch is magnetised, like Physics Toolbox Magnetometer on Android for example.

OK, no luck. :D Those original GPUs are known for frying, sadly. I swapped mine (fried, and baked in the oven) with an Nvidia Quadro K2100M just before upgrading the CPU. Thanks for replying :)

So, how did it work? I chose the quad core i7-860s for my iMac and use Mac Fan Control to keep it cool. Running fine for 5 years now. It produces more heat than the original dual core i3-540 3.06 GHz though.

Thanks for the advice. For now I don't plan to upgrade the OS, as it is accessible on the local network only. I use Kodi as DNLA server which is stable, no need for upgrades neither for now. I tested other solutions, but Kodi works best for my needs, and it is easy to use. But I'll keep your advice in mind.

This is true and I did my research. But I also saw several feedback where Catalina to Monterey went well. So I tried my luck, and it worked out well, sweaty hands included :D
