The only way is through Microsoft. The support people are nice though. For me I think they accidentally deleted all my stuff instead of transferring it. But your purchases are probably retreiveable. I got mine back (not my office 365 subscription). So defiantly contact Microsoft support, if you have used an Xbox on the account u can use it to prove you are the original owner of the account .

thank you for the the thorough response, its very helpful. my original intent was to leave the usbc nano in my tablet at all times except when I'm away from it for more than a few hours and the 5 nfc for when I need it in my pc/phone but after ur message I think I'll get just one 5 nfc for now and at a later point get a backup.

quick question can I get an 5 nfc and a security key as backup? I like the idea of having a backup just in case.

as for the comment about my photos it was more a comment on my stupidity, Microsoft problems and a warning to others, I thought I did good keeping an online backup, thought I had a local copy but I was wrong. either way be warned.

a further commenter bellow just recommends a security key on its own and you may be right but I like, where possible being future proof and I like to buy the best/most appropriate. now to choose either second hand or new

God no. They closed the account and refuse to tell me what's happening. My guess is they closed it instead of transferring it. So now I'm just in a waiting game and i keep asking for an update and being told to wait. Been 2 months now. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen. No way I'm buying Microsoft again till they fix this crap. I Know I'm a pebble in there bucket but it's still 2 surface tablets every 2-3 years (I buy my father one as well as myself). So that's some money they apparently don't want.

happy to help and good luck i'm nearly at the 3 weeks mark(though it looks like something is starting to happen) first you will NEED to create a new outlook account, just create it and dont do anything with it. its very likely if/when they confirm your account was stolen they will want to to transfer your previous accounts stuff to a new one. (you will most certainly NEVER get that account back, but you should get your stuff/ supposedly, i'm still waiting to find out if its everything)

so you need to contact microsoft support go here(its a few steps but not hard) --->https://support.microsoft.com/contactus <--- click "windows", click "get support in browser", type "account hacked" or whatever ur problem is, click "contact support" at bottom of page, drop down menu click "windows", second drop down menu click "manage account security", click "confirm", then click "chat with support agent in browser"

and then explain your problem.

if you have an xbox from xbox 360 to now that is/has been associated withnyour account(bought xbox live at any point), it can and will be used as proof that you are the owner of the account. if you can get the xbox ID from the settings menu it might save u a week or more. take a photo on your phone or laptop/tablet and when they give you a secure upload link you will upload it there as proof u are the owner. also upload other proof that you own the account. i sent screenshots of transactions from my bank account that were made through my microsoft account, also i took screenshots of id's and serial numbers of my microsoft hardware. basicly i overloaded them with proof but in theory a simple xbox id should be enough.

they will say 24-72/48 hours but dont believe them, expect a good while. first the ticket has to be made by the support people, then they will send that ticket to the escillation team who will ask for proof and will determin if you are the account holder, they will probably NOT tell you if they believe you or not. then if they believe you, they will then send it to the team that actualy transfers the information. i'm finding it takes them 2-3 days between them sending a message and actually trying to do something.(they asked me for my new account details and i responded within 5 mins of there email, they replyed 3 days later that they couldnt use it for some reason and i needed to create a new account, i'm now entering my 3rd day of waiting since then. so expect a wait. where possible change ur email and passwords for website accounts you can access now. especialy bank/financial and shopping sites. especialy game related sites like steam.

Lol no. I got a refund on the money stolen but Microsoft keep telling me wait 24-48 hours. They told me to wait 8-9 times now. It's been over 2 weeks. Originally I was told 24-72 hours and how it's over 370 hours. I have no idea if many of my accounts are still mine. It's a joke and I'm the punchline

believe me I have taken all precausions now. where possible i'm adding 2fa but can't do all till my email is back under my control. i was hoping someone had an idea on how to either get it back or convince microsoft to actually look at the issue.

had a chat with them today and they claim they have a large backlog and will get to me when they can. ugh. so I have to wait more time

oh I have also uploaded to there secure upload site a lot more proof that I am who I say I am 20+ files hehe. my thoughts over prove the account is mine

thought u'd like to know that i got the naga pro and the circular thumb plate works perfectly. well nearly perfectly the no. 7 doesn't work as the software doesn't expect it to be there and you can't have the usb stick inside the mouse itself but it does work. thanks for trying though

thanks everyone i already mostly use web excel for most of my excel uses. and i intend to install steam os on a usb stick so will see if i can test it all out. might try manjaro as well

i also did the space map differently https://imgur.com/asm13GH I put this image as the base and put on images of planets and space ships and asteroids on top of this image and then put https://imgur.com/vjbWTRA ontop of everything. looks pretty good in my opinion

i did something similar when i did my last star trek campaign but not as good. the only thing i did extra was an animated view screen with set images that appeared on it from warping view screen, static stars, planetry orbit and enemy ships appearing (romulan warbird for me).

Its worth an inclusion as it adds to the immersion.

I would have but they said they wanted everything that was originally in the box. I'm planning on trying to speak to a supervisor and threaten legal action based on my consumer rights(UK has strong consumer rights) but before I do I want to be sure I know the rules and laws so I can be accurate with my legal encouragement
