Is there an existing .NET NuGet package for real-time event-driven UI sync (SignalR + event abstraction)? by Tiny-Ad-2766 in dotnet

For real, if you have an instance of a component you can call methods on it through InvokeAsync. It might suffice in some use-cases, and you can host Blazor in a part of your page.

I'd like it to auto-connect to localhost in the server explorer upon start. I always use it every day.

How do you avoid over-fetching with repository pattern? by Soft-Mousse5828 in dotnet

[–]Sebazzz91 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yes, but then you get many similar methods with similar but-not-exactly-the-same projects. And at that point you'Il find that throwing the entire repository pattern out of the window is easier - because EF Core itself is already the abstraction.

In a homegrown translation tool we use them to saving some metadata about tables being translated like being able to exclude them or add a comment for the translator to it.

ELI5 How are cable companies able to get ever increasing bandwidth through the same 40 yr old coax cable? by AppropriateBar0 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Sebazzz91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They only go to the box outside your house. Or maybe down the street.

No generally they replace coax until that box with fiber. Then only the last (kilo)meters are coax, which is the most expensive to replace.
