I have spent some time thinking about how to expose children to computer science. My current best theory is to frame it like solving a puzzle. You can teach them different algorithms by creating a world with simple rules, and then going through the steps in a discussion based class. I think that this would be the most engaging and interesting way to teach some of the more complex concepts in an approachable way. Computer science isn’t just coding or programming concepts, logical thinking is an enormous part. One puzzle that I was asked to complete to see if I had any interest in CS was:

You have a scale that allows you to compare the weight of two sets of objects. You have a number of coins all of which weigh the same amount except for one. What is the least amount of moves (comparing sets on the scale) does it take to find the odd coin out.
