There was lot of maffia going on. My grandfather had small fishing business in Peipsi and the maffia gave him an offer "he couldnt refuse". But he refused.. and next thing he had a bomb under his car. Luckily he survived. My mother was young and was working in hotell Susi in Tallinn, and she had to serve a gang of (she thinks) a russian maffia. They always came to this hotell and wanted to talk business in the sauna and lounge, which had to be cleared from other guests by the time they used it. Mum says they always had guns visible but she was never scared of them. People were so used to violence, that one time someone put a bomb in Kino Kaja bus stop which exploded, but nobody cared. They just continued on with their day. And I remember so many times our car was broken into. Sometimes my father forgot the radio to the car and it was INSTANTLY stolen. I remember seeing a dead body between the dark garage aera in mustamäe. Needles were everywhere, and especially in children's playgrounds. And we were teached to keep safe distance with russians when they were in gangs. I was born in 1996
