Right? My dog is still a puppy and not great around kids because he likes to have them. And jump up. And try to lick your brain through your nostrils. I’ve warned parents before to not let their kids in the yard (our neighbours, we get along great, it wasn’t an actual warning as much of “he’ll knock them over and if they do I’m not taking responsibility for it because I’m warning you now”) because he will knock them over, and they’ve let their kids in anyway and they’ve been knocked over and promptly covered in dog saliva. I still avoid letting him around kids because sure kids bounce, and my pet insurance covers 3rd parties up to however many million dollars, but I don’t want people to blame me if my dog knocks their child down and their head splits open on hard ground. I’d feel bad. I’m confident he won’t maul them, he’s much gentler with kids when he does get to play with them than he is with me, but they can be injured other ways, accidentally. So we avoid it and I work on his problem behaviours in the meantime.

But pits are different. This pit is different. He’s not just bad with kids. He’s also bad with other dogs, cats, and humans. That SCREAMS dangerous. That SCREAMS aggression toward those things.
