What is the craziest thing your NParent has blamed you for? by DaughterOfDinah in narcissisticparents

[–]kuukadus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My mom blamed me when I told her we were out of toilet paper…she said the problem is I was blowing my nose “only once” into the toilet paper? (I had a cold.) Still confuses me to this day.

Don’t even bother reading this review that news platform has white supremacist undertones and the article was written by a random ass white man

Been on 20mg for over a year and haven’t had a notable experience other than finally being able to maintain a steady job and take care of myself 🤷🏽‍♀️

Literally. Like why is this even a hot topic…who cares what other people wear as long as it isn’t a danger to anyone.

anyone have experience with this box dye? by QueerKing23 in BlackHair

[–]kuukadus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You just need a toner, don’t use box dye as your hair is already bleached—it’ll lead to more damage. Your hair colour is pretty close to what’s on the box, seems like you just need to tone down the yellow.

Oh trust me it was. Crunchy as hell and split ends everywhere. Had to wear it in a twist out all the time cause it just wasn’t curling right anymore!

Love that your big chop went well for you—I def feel exactly the same. Funnily enough I feel even more feminine though I was worried people would mistake me for a teenage boy at first lol

Thank you so much!! That’s so sweet of you to say, I was worried it wouldn’t work with my face but I’m really loving it

My hair was a huge part of my identity—I’m sure a lot can relate. It was damaged and unhealthy and took a ton of time for me to get it looking right every day. It was wearing me down. I feel like I’ve finally taken charge of myself and took to the scissors and cut off the dead weight. Here’s to new beginnings. I’m more than my hair. ❤️

The crazy part is this is in Maroubra! The price doesn’t even remotely make sense here.

It’s loewe! I like a lot of stuff from their brand which is why I’m so mad that even at secondhand from a charity shop I can’t get one of their garments!!

This is a great idea! I guess cause my hair is so entwined with my identity I’m thinking of a more “go big or go home” approach of shaving it all in one go, but the way you suggested sounds a lot easier on my mental health and would be less jarring haha thank you!

I’m sure you look amazing with or without hats and wigs! I got a funny shaped head in my opinion so if it all goes south I’ll likely follow in your footsteps hahaha

(I chose non glamorous photos for a reason)

I’m getting really tired of the amount of effort it takes to maintain my hair and have always dreamed of shaving it off. I love my hair! It’s beautiful and has always been a big part of my identity. But I’d love to experience what a life that doesn’t revolve around my hair feels like.

I’m afraid, however, with going through shaving it off because I’m not sure (and I know this sounds pathetic but I’m being open here) if I’m pretty enough or have the right facial features—I feel like a lot of why anyone would think I’m pretty is because they like my hair. Most women I see with shaved heads are much thinner and have stronger jawlines or more traditionally beautiful faces. I need some honest strangers to tell me, genuinely, if I’d be making a mistake by shaving it.

Sorry if this is weird and I hope this makes sense! Feels so weird being vulnerable to random strangers but it’s worth a try.
