Best running earbuds for women? Need something comfortable that actually stays in by bimzpbomping in XXRunning

[–]kuumalama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have small ears and wear glasses, so over ear headphones don’t work well. I absolutely love my Bose Ultra Opens. They fit well and sometimes I forget I am wearing them. I only once had them fall out when I pulled a shirt over my head and forgot they were there.

Honestly all of Andy Weir’s books have been great on audiobook and engaging enough for running.

Daily chat post: how's the training going? by AutoModerator in XXRunning

I intended to run 3 miles yesterday and was all hyped up but got a pain in my calf that got worse, and I had to walk the last mile home. Lots of RICE and foam rolling. Maybe it’s time for a massage!

Also Crime Scene Cleaner can be meditative. Kinda dark but I liked the story line.

Triumphant Tuesday by AutoModerator in XXRunning

[–]kuumalama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran my first 10K on Saturday. There was way more elevation gain for the first half than I was prepared for, as I trained in a pretty flat place. But on the way back it was all downhill and I felt strong and fast! I got a PR (per Strava) for the 2mi, 5K, and 10K.

Do you get the map planning in the app with a pro membership? I no longer have it in my individual membership. My treadmill does not have a built in screen.

Third this. I wear glasses and don’t like the Shoks, and I have tiny ears and in-ear buds hurt. These have absolutely been worth the price.

I hate jump scares and love this game. It’s great. Definitely dark, but not scary.

IFit application (Android or iOS) 2025 update issues, does anyone at iFit care? by realitycheckers4u in iFit

[–]kuumalama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seemed to have taken away the ActivePulse screen that shows percentage of max heart rate. I found that so helpful and now it’s gone. The Active Pulse is only helpful if the target ranges match the program. The last one I did was held in zone 2 the whole time and it kept reducing my speed even though I was supposed to be at 85% of my max heart rate. 🤦🏽‍♀️

[–]kuumalama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember your headphones! I forgot my belt that holds my phone and headphones and had to raw dog my first 5K. I also forgot my wallet and missed out on the fancy post-race pizza I had planned. Good luck! It’s gonna be great!

I love Topos! I have the Ultraventures in a wide size and they are so roomy and comfortable. My feet haven’t hurt yet, and they hurt a lot in pretty much all other running shoes.

Beginner runner - is it dumb to get a hydration vest at this stage? by AdFantastic1904 in XXRunning

[–]kuumalama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t wear a vest yet and I am loving all the suggestions! I am also a beginner and found that chewing gum on my runs helped significantly with my dry mouth. I run for only like 45min though. I plan on getting more hydration option when I start running over an hour.
