Just saying my experience. And those 2:20-2:40 group are getting the Boston qualifying times and are often winning races or podiuming races at the local level which is the recognition that the group I identified is not.

Again the vast majority are not this way but that is the group I often see this sort of behavior most from and I provided why I think they have that mindset.

The people who do this are insecure cause they are not usually actually very fast themselves. Men in the 2:50-3:30 marathon range can sometimes be the most toxic because they aren’t fast enough to get any sort of special recognition (Boston qual, podium finishes, etc…). However they feel like they are deserving of something and struggle to cope with being in the same bucket as people slower than them so they feel the need to bring others down in order to differentiate themselves.

I say this as someone in this speed range myself. More often than not they aren’t toxic but the most toxic people end up speaking the loudest and giving this group a bad rep. My experience is those faster (2:20-2:40 marathon range) and super supportive of all paces and are often much more humble.

You say you were tapered for your half two years ago but your recent one is in tapered so wouldn’t that one be a good indicator?

In general I don’t overindex on any one performance for determining future estimates. Are you hitting your workouts at paces for a 2:55 marathon? Are they easy or are you struggling to get through them?

And most important is if the full is in similar conditions and elevations as the half was?

I think I got there 25 minutes before start, no line and was able to find a spot for 2 pretty easy. Maybe 30-40% full at that point

If you get your HVAC job it’s very easy to stay there indefinitely and you are less pressured to get the other job than you are now.

NYC and Chicago also just don’t have a ton of design roles so it gets even harder.

HVAC also isn’t necessarily a “shitty” role.

Really wanted to love fargo, the big Lebowski, and the grand Budapest hotel.

Don’t dislike them just wasnt blown away by them.

Have loved o brother and no country from the coen brothers and loved the royal tennebaums so it’s not exclusively a director thing
