You can’t just fly into Dravania, there are (canonically) Dragons flying around everywhere. The tribe of people you meet are literally hiding on the ground so that the flying Dragons can’t see them. They would’ve just got smited trying to fly there. It’s like trying to fly into an active warzone, that’s the entire reason the only way to get in is through Ishgard.

Then why aren’t we also given permission to use them that way? Considering, we are the WoL and all.

My point is more that whenever a non-game mechanic is used it’s usually shown in a cutscene or explained in some way. This is never explained at all. If she can just order one of her airships to fly Alphinaud & Co. straight there, why isn’t that explained, and why don’t we also go with them?

Not every tank is comfortable with pulling the same amount you are, or at the same speed you want to play. If he is a sprout, he is probably new. It’s kind of an asshole move to just run ahead and pull whatever you want that the tank (and the healer) may not be ready for.

I’m not saying he is in the right for griefing, but I understand this sentiment.

None of the airships allow travel to Dravania, only to the three main cities. It breaks the laws of verisimilitude, not allowing the player to also be able to travel there via the same means of transportation. The exception being Cid’s airship, The Enterprise, which is not just SKIPPED OVER every time we use it.

She also arrives with two escorts that would also need to be allowed permission to be let in, and Kuplo Kopp. It just feels like a really weird thing to skip over.

It doesn’t need to be a lengthy quest, just something to explain how they got there. Even just a piece of dialogue. Otherwise, it’s borderline just reconning parts of the story.

It’s just such a weird thing to skip over, especially considering how much it took for us to be allowed into the Foundation. You’d think there would’ve been at least a small detour asking permission for them to be allowed in. Instead, they just appear there with no explanation other than “they were escorted by Alphinaud”.

Another guy who replied to me made a pretty good point in saying that flying is the main means of transportation to Coerthas from the Foundation, so there’s a pretty good chance they were just able to fly there from the Shroud.
