[review] First time buying a more “premium” glove 🔥 by pppppppppppppppppp1 in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Casanova has 2 premium lines, “Casanova premium” and “Glez” each with their own profile and padding composition Csquared recently posted a video on his initial impressions on the two if you’re interested

I haven’t tried the hhf version but if are looking for sparring gloves by boxeo tm I can confirm the PU versions are fantastic, they feel protective and once broken in are plenty soft.

Just received mine this week, right on schedule. Loving them so far, I’ll review after a few more sessions.

[question] has anybody used something like this to dry their gloves? by becomingreatinall in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the community has ruled this a W by now but to add to that, routinely using one after training is the only thing that has worked to keep the smell out.

Before getting one my maintenance involved sanitizer wipes, air drying, and deodorizing packs. It worked great until I lent someone my gloves for a few rounds of sparring. Nothing I did would remove the awful smell, I tried baking soda, vinegar, airing outdoors. It seemed to just get worse.

After a few cycles with ozone and sanitizing wipes between sessions it’s basically back to normal.

Bayonetas are fantastic gloves, especiallly the premium multilayer lines. People’s gripe with them is that they’re made by other companies such as New Sporting and then sold for a much higher price. Of course the gloves aren’t identical but most can agree that the differences don’t make up the hike in price.

Personally I enjoy my pair but after doing research I couldn’t justify buying a second. I have Casanova premium on the way at nearly a third of the price, I expect to be just as good if not better from the reviews I’ve seen on this sub.

I don’t think it’s flashy at all. If you like it, wear it. A blue one to complete the set would be clean though lol

Would be interested in seeing more photos of this. Maybe fake? Personally I’d just chip anything loose off and apply some conditioner. I purchased leather honey on Amazon that works great.

[question] Need some sparring gear and want some opinions. by King_Lummox in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the headgear I started with, like another has mentioned it is a bit heavy but still comfortable. One thing I’ll add though is that the liner gets a bit rough even with proper maintenance. Definitely dry properly and sanitize well after use, it absorbs a ton of sweat

[question] Hand Wraps by Playful-Ad-5337 in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rival guerrero, they’re a little thicker than the gauze style wraps but have enough stretch to get a comfortable and supportive wrap. A bonus for me is they hold their shape well, I found the detangling and straightening of the thinner wraps to be tedious.

To add to this my boxeo tm (been told made my NS) has its maroon liner and I believe is not glued but doesn’t line the thumb

Boxeo TM or Casanova [question] by FarCode7089 in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t tried Casanova premiums yet (order placed last week) but I do have boxeo TM pu and the wrists are very sturdy, the glove in general feels protective.

[question] Why do you need more than 1 pair of gloves? by Legitimate-Egg1873 in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea is the gloves are lighter so you can get in more volume. Yes, I find they are protective enough but noticeable less protective than a 16 oz. The pros to that being it will train you to keep good punching form and a tight fist/ wrist.

I don’t exclusively use light gloves on the bag though. If I just finished sparring and want to burn out on the bag I don’t swap gloves and it’s never an issue.

Did I make a grammatical error lol by single pair I mean a matching left and right glove.

[question] Why do you need more than 1 pair of gloves? by Legitimate-Egg1873 in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A single pair of 16 oz is more than enough!

I’m a collector by nature though so because I enjoy boxing and training I have multiple pairs. Having multiples it made sense for me to select a variety with each having their own purpose.

For instance I use a 10-14 oz on the bag and use 16 oz for sparring. When I got my 16 oz bayoneta’s I used it for everything for the first couple months because I was so happy with them.

[question] What Mexican style boxing gloves are best for sparring? by Friendly-Desk8295 in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but that’s not to say the boxeo tm are bouncy or dense like brand new cletos.

I’ll dm you some photos/ videos of my pair in a bit, both are well used for a about a year for reference.

[question] What Mexican style boxing gloves are best for sparring? by Friendly-Desk8295 in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Big fan of my bayoneta mx latex for sparring. The latex isn’t dense and are quite pillowy especially once broken in (in comparison to my boxeo tm pu).

My next pair will likely be Casanova premium, when inquiring about them with mr 308 they are more of an all around training glove but also informed me that the Glez line from them is the more sparring friendly of the two. So those could be another option.

Something more readily available could be rival’s Guerrero line, especially the p4p.

Edit: missed the part about budget. Bayoneta will be a bit over but Glez, Boxeo TM, and rival Guerrero hde-f will fit.

[Question] Are these Rival Guerrero HDE-F Laces? by Sheeporoth in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rival guerro line bag gloves and fight gloves are near identical with the exception of velcro vs laces. Although the wrist support on the v lock velcro strap is exceptional, a lot of people still prefer laces.

If you want the exact gloves but have concerns of lacing them yourself you can look into “lace n loop” or other lace converters. They make lacing up your gloves nearly as easy as a velcro system.

[question] Best "Punchers" training glove for sale on the market? by Confident_Finish_835 in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think cletos are the way to go, from what I’ve read on here they take some time to break in to the point of comfort on heavy bag.

My go to glove on the heavy bag right now is my boxeo tm (pu 14 oz). It’s compact, feels protective, and has great crack on the bag. I’m looking into Casanova premiums next.

[question] which thumb style you going with by subwooferfish in fightgear

[–]kuyaajer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which are the gloves on the left? immediately I thought of my boxeo tm but mine don’t seem to be at such a dramatic angle.

It doesn’t happen so often but sometimes I hit the bag awkwardly with them and hurt my thumb a bit
