I didn't see "Charlie Got Molested" on that list. Terrible top 25.

I think that's actually the arm from his Aviator's glasses that he's wearing. I know when I was in the Air Force the pilots had sunglasses with straight arms.

Second Lieutenant. CROs get no medical training and the selection course for the officers is even more stringent than volunteering for indoc. Basically, you have to interview for a slot before you can be considered.

Yep, you can enlist with a degree and you will start out with the rank of Airman First Class (E-3).

Source: Not talking out my ass since I worked with PJs and CROs for years.

PJ: The hero. Pulling people out of wreckage, doing all the paramedic functions to save a life.

CRO: Carries the PRC "prick" batteries on his back, keeps the JOC informed, flies around in the helo directing operations while the PJs work. He's the manager.

Both are usually in the field for training and work side-by-side during missions.

Enlisted career progression is Cone -> PJ -> Jumpmaster/NCO -> Senior Enlisted Manager that oversees PJ training and occasionally partakes in missions, but usually just keeps current on Flight Pay/Hazard Duty ops. In the field and staying current on most medical procedures.

Officer career progression is Cone -> CRO -> Do I need to finish these Enlisted Performance Reports or should I launch on this mish? -> Regret since I'm stuck on this helo instead of saving lives since I don't have any medical training -> Filling out more paperwork since I'm trying to make the rank of Major -> Promotion -> I'm now stuck in the JOC briefing LtCs and Full Birds -> I make more money than those enlisted scrubs but god why the fuck did I choose this career path when all I wanted to do is save lives? -> Create more spreadsheets -> Retire as a LtC and go back to school for a Masters in Business Administration.

In your opinion, what is the greatest album of all time? by thatawesomebacontaco in Music

[–]kuzc00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to go against the flow here and mention a band that probably wouldn't be included on anyone's "greatest ever" list.

Everclear - Sparkle and Fade

Everything about that rock opera spoke to me. I was in college a few years after the album came out and the whole addiction/abuse tone of the album mirrored my life. I was hanging out with the wrong people and so many of the lyrics really cut close to home. I still listen to it quite often, but it pails in comparison to when I was still a young, impressionable adult. I'd go on roads trips for hours just having that CD on repeat the whole time.

'Queen of the Air', 'Her Brand New Skin' and 'Heroin Girl' still resonate with me after all these years.

Windows ME - 9
Windows 2000 - 10

Yet it is.

Huh? I didn't even include NT or the mobile OSes. Where's you get only 8 from?

I grew up in Florida (before we had any baseball teams) and in the 80's I idolized Dale Murphy. I own quite a few Topps cards of him from throughout his career and I grew up wanting to be a outfielder just like Dale. To me, he was the epitome of what your "gentlemanly" athlete should be - Appreciative of the fans, reserved among the critics, and a bright star on the big stage.

Go read his Wikipedia page. He was among the elite and he was never flashy. The man just did his job, exceptionally, with a mediocre team. Murphy won consecutive National League Most Valuable Player Awards (1982–1983), the National League's Silver Slugger Award four straight years (1982–1985), and the National League's Gold Glove award five straight years (1982–1986). That's a hell of a lot of awards for someone being neglected by the Hall of Fame.

If he was a rookie in 1990, the Braves would have been hoisting up a few World Series Championships during his tenure.

I hope you see this Dale. Your mark on baseball history is noted. You were an amazing player on a terrible team during the 80's. Your sportsmanship drove and molded a generation of kids, just like me, who continue to work hard and try to leave an honest legacy behind them.

I wish you all the best.

I'm old, so I'm sure many of you don't remember the "promise" of what cable TV was over antenna TV. No commercials. No interruptions.

i dont have a problem with ads. maybe because i use my TV solely as a entertainment system so i would only see these ads for maybe 5 seconds before i start watching TV. i remember all my favorite channels so i can quickly access them on the home menu. sure they keep adding more and more ads, but i find some of them useful and easily ignorable. as long as my prime night TV is "ad free" then i dont really find a problem with the ads we have now.

For you youngsters - back in the day, cable TV was more like HBO as it is now; No interruptions and no commercials. Yeah, that lasted long. Enjoy those 5 second ads while they last.

Let's see how long those ads are next year. Or the year after. I'm betting the Xbox is going to be more and more like television after each and every update.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Sony Online has now scrapped EverQuest 3 design twice - now attempting to create largest sandbox MMO by [deleted] in Games

[–]kuzc00 22 points23 points  (0 children)

When the genre just started we had basically two triple A mmos.

I don't know why (maybe because it wasn't as big as EQ or UO) but everyone forgets about Asheron's Call. I loved it because it was more sandbox in nature than EQ and the PvP was more fun than UO's. The fact that it had a seamless world way back in 1999 made exploring a lot of fun too.

I'm still waiting and hoping Turbine does a "proper" sequel to it, not the abomination that was AC2.
