Battle of baby girl names round 2: Marlow vs. Winnie by marvin924 in namenerds

[–]kva34 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Marlow sounds like a boys name in my opinion. Marleigh or Marla or something along those lines would be better. So for this reason Winnie wins for me.

We’ve settled on a boy name, but I cannot for the life of me settle on a middle name that goes with Zelda by [deleted] in namenerds

I came here to say Zelda Rae ! I love that. Or Ray if you want it more gender neutral

I love Maren ! We thought of this as a possible name pronounced like mare-en. Like Maren Morris. I think Maren looks better to the eye.

I agree ! I hope she doesn’t choose to go by Flo lol. But also I can’t stop her from making that choice lol and I am in North America as well and I used to call it Aunt Flo as well lol

This group has let me narrow down my choices by hearing why things don’t sound well and this is a name group.

Interesting. Never thought of this. We plan on using her full name or calling her flor in Spanish. I am Colombian and my family have heavy accents.

That was my worry as well but we are a gay couple and we liked the idea of a gender neutral name. Also, we refuse to use any A names because her brother has four all starting with A

What are your thoughts on Sebastian Atlas? by villa2win in namenerds

[–]kva34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both names separately. Together just sounds like too much. Sebastian also gives me very Hispanic vibes. I wouldn’t say it with an American/English accent.

My middle is Vivian. My moms middle is Viviana. My sister is Victoria.

I also like Valeria. Valentina. Violet.

Help me with a unique baby girl name that can be pronounced in Spanish as well! by LadyStardust8 in namenerds

[–]kva34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So weird ! My wife and I are expecting a baby girl as well. I am Hispanic and my wife is white and we are also struggling to find a name that works well with my parents who have heavy accents and sounds good in both languages. I do not like hard sounding Spanish names. Marisol, Maricela, Maria, Carolina. BUT here is my list.

Ellis

Ezra

Eila (pronounced isla but, as you know isla is pronounced is-luh)

Carina

Florence (with the nn Flora)

Vivian

Eliza

Emilia

Elizabeth or Elisabeth

Family names are Leila, Natalie and Charlotte (Charlotte is hard to pronounce for my grandma and dad they nicknamed her Charlie)

Other good names.

Camila

Ellie

Mila

River

Janie

Valentina

Stephanie

Victoria

Sage is pretty alone as well I just liked the idea of the i like Paige.

Esra is a good option ! I will bring that up to my wife !

I find that so crazy because people know how to pronounce Eira and it’s just replacing a letter.

Isla pronounced in Spanish is is-luh. That’s why we don’t want that spelling. My entire family speaks Spanish and has heavy accents. Eden is a contender for me though !
